Course Curriculum Overview
I chose CSE-AI as it was the topmost course the university had to offer plus AI is a booming technology and I was attracted to learn it. Each class has about 75-80 students and there are 2 mentor faculties in each class, so the faculty-student ratio would be 1:40. The faculties are qualified and helpful, be it in their respective courses or just general problems you face. Most faculties are good but there could be one who is annoyed with all of the students and angry all time but you'll learn to cope lol. Teaching methods are still old school but most faculties are changing it by using more technology rather than just mugging up the notes dictated or written on the board. Term exams could be stressful days, sometimes End sem could be just after a month of mid sem getting over. Passing is not that difficult if you start studying 1 week prior to the mid sem and 2 weeks prior to the end sems.
Placement Experience
From 7th semester I guess students are eligible for sitting in the campus placements. Known comanies and MNC's like Microsoft visit IGDTUW for internships and placements. More and specific data for the same is given on IGDTUW's official website. Hishest package in 2022 was around 84 LPA and average package was 20 LPA. Percentage of students placed was above 95%. My plans after getting a degree is to either do masters in Artificial Intelligence or get placed in a known company.
Fees and Financial Aid
The total cost of most B.Tech courses at IGDTUW is Rs. 5,70,000 which is pretty low compared to many universities. There are MANY scholarship you'll get introduced to once you enter the university, you'll get notified time to time about the upcoming scholarship opportunities by seniors or faculty mentors. Financial Assistance can be provided to students belonging to a particular category or who have relatively lower family income. They are often given priority in both government and private schemes. The on-campus placement and internship record is pretty good. The average stipend for internships is 50,000/month and for placements, the average package is 20 LPA approximately.
Campus Life
The annual cultural fest is Taarangana conducted in March or April and annual Tech fest is Innerve conducted in November or December. Apart from these, a sports meet and diwali fest are also conducted yearly. Adequate amounts of books and journals are avilable in the library, not too much but enough for course study materials and scientific interests. The infrastructure in some of the classroom is not quite good, but it said that it'll be improved based on class size in upcoming time period. There are more than 30 clubs and socities in IGDTUW, a society for almost every extra-curricular one might have interest in. igdtuwresource is a website made by one of the senior at IGDTUW that provides with notes, previous year papers and tutorial sheets that helps a lot in term exams. Every society has its social media handles on instagram and linkedIn.
Admission
JEE (Mains) applicants who cleared the cutoff can acquire a seat in the university and the course. The admissions are done through JAC (Joint Admission Counselling) Delhi, the site is updated after second attempt of JEE Mains and the opening and closing dates for filling the application form are released. There's an application fees of around Rs. 1200 for participating in the counselling. The cutoff for most of the branches in IGDTUW go pretty low which allows a girl candidate to get an upper branch at a relatively lower rank as compared to NSUT, IIITD or DTU. As for improvements in the admission process, the JAC result for alloted seats are never on the time mentioned in the brochure which becomes too irritating for a student who is searching for a seat. If the JAC Committee can be punctual to this, it'll be really appreciated.
Other Applied Colleges
