A journey worth sharing

For moving out of college you need to get a gate pass approved by your hostel warden. Hostels are having cameras except girls hostel. There is no ragging over here, believe me, it's true. Mess food not good. You have a good court named square one, which also sells la pinoz pizza, burgrill burger, and havmor ice cream.

There was no such entrance examination from college side. At the time of admission, in first counseling only those candidates were called whose JEE Main marks was >=60 and then afterward more students were called in second and third counseling according to decreasing order of marks until seats were full. One mandatory requirement was board percentage in PCM >=65%.

The course structure is very very good here. You would be really delighted if you want to go in the field of research. There is a CURIN department here which is only for research. In the summer vacations, people who are interested in research can stay here and study here and do research work in whatever field they are interested and the best thing is that professor here doesn't ever hesitate in assisting the student.

Yes, the college provides the internship. Many successful startups have been produced by the college and the students of the college get an opportunity to work in those startups. Apart from that students also get a chance to earn while learning under the scheme "Earn while you Learn". This is offered by the college. To start working you just need to go and talk to your Dean and tell him/her about your skills. Yes, you, of course, get stipend based on your performance and work assigned. Generally, it is around 1,000-10,000 or maybe more depends on your work. It gives a very good experience and you also learn many new skills like teamwork and how to take the decision at the crucial time.

Placement here is 100%. The average package here is 5 LPA. Students here get placed in companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Flipkart, Oyo and many more. These companies offer an attractive package of above 8LPA. This year the highest package was 37LPA offered by Amazon.

There are many inter and intra university fests and events being organised here and after each fest we have a dj night where some or the other famous singer comes and entertain us. Fests like Rangrezz and Algorythm are organised. It's events also has cash prizes and there are a lot of fun games and tech events also.

Fee structure goes like the college fees is 80,000 per semester. Hostel charge 47,000 per semester which includes mess and laundry and it's 34,200 per semester excluding mess. I think the fee structure is a little expensive but for the quality of education and facilities that Chitkara is providing, it's OK for me.

No scholarship is provided but if you want to avail loan you can avail it just by giving an application in accounts department of college. The college has ties with UCO bank and you would surely get a loan.

The campus life is very enjoyable as you have parks, inbuilt canteens, playground and a well-built moratorium and gym. The Gender ratio here is 2:3. There are many groups in the college which organize DJ nights from time to time. Not only that, the college also celebrates many festivals regardless of which religion it may be. You will find people of all religion here. There is no sort of discrimination over here and nobody is ill-treated.

Hostel facilities are very good. But mess is bad, and that's the reason why the mess has been closed, means it's available if you opt for it, else now it is a thali system, pay per plate you eat. PGs are available. A 2BHK flat cost 5,000 per month excluding electricity and laundry charges. For six months it nearly costs 48,000 and if you are two people in 2BHK flat then it costs you around 24,000 per person.

The senior students are ofcourse helpful, and moreover there is no ragging over here. Senior students don't hesitate to help until you ask for help. I don't have much info about alumini network, but yes the people working in startups are alumini from our college and from time to time they organise workshops and teach us new skills.

Here you would have to spend morning 9 to evening 4:30 attending classes, ofcourse you would be provided breaks in between apart from bunks. Regarding exams, there are three semester exams of which best two average is considered and the final exam. Lab practical exam are conducted only during final exams. But need not worry, you get enough gaps in between papers and labs to prepare.

You have to first fill a form available on their website and then according to your marks and percentage you will be called for counselling. Depending on your marks you will be called for 1st, 2nd or 3rd counselling, until seats are full. While attending the counselling you will have to choose your stream and pay the fees thereby or deposit the fees afterwards till the specified date and then you will be given the fee receipt. On the day of visiting college you need to bring the fee receipt. There will be a small introduction session and then you will be alloted hostel, if you want to opt and at that time only you need to pay for your college uniform.

The faculty over here is very much experienced. Each and everyone here has some or the other achievement in their fields. The faculty here is friendly and their way of teaching would delight you a lot. They keep on explaining until and unless you understand every bit of it.
