Course Curriculum Overview
NIT Trichy holds the reputation of being the best NIT in the country and the EEE branch being circuital offers the perfect blend of challenging academics and practical applications. The faculty to student ratio is 298:3585, indicating a reasonable number of students per faculty member. This facilitates a more personalized learning experience. The professors are exceptionally qualified, with a significant 282 of the 298 holding a Ph.D. degree. This ensures a high level expertise in their respective fields. The teaching methods employed by the faculty are commendable, provided a mix of theoretical knowledge and practical insights. In term of assessments, the course structure includes 2-3 cycle tests and one end semester exam per term. These exams are strategically spaced, alowing for a continuous learning curve. Passing the exams is quite easy, and in my opinion the difficulty of the exams are in the range of moderately easy to a moderately difficult level.
Placement Experience
All students of VII and VIII semesters have the requirements for attending campus recruitment. Total of 242 companies visited in 2022-2023. a few companies are: google, microsoft, accenture, Allen career institute, Amazon, Axis Bank, Bajaj, BEL, Boeing, BPCL, Cadence, Caterpillar, CISCO, Daimler Truck Innovation, Ford, General Electric, Hitachi India, Hyundai Motors Ltd, IBM Consulting, ICICI, Infosys, John Deere, Oracle, Qualcomm, etc. highest package was 52.89 LPA, average was 17.23 LPA My plan as of now is to get into a top tech company.
Fees and Financial Aid
Regarding the fees hike policy, the college typically reviews and revises the fees structure periodically. A hike of 10 percent is generally observed every year. Any changes in fees are generally communicated in advance, allowing the students to plan accordingly. The course fees for all the eight semesters combined is almost 6.5 lakh INR, and the hostel and mess fees combined for the eight semesters amounts to almost 3.6-4 lakh INR. I did not apply for any scholarship or financial assistance or campus jobs.
Campus Life
Life at NITT campus is vibrant, offering a rich blend of social activities and academic resources along with extra curricular opportunities. Annual Fest and tech fest: The annual cultural fest is called "Festember", usually held in September. The tech fest "Pragyan" is typically conducted in March. There are other fests, like "Sportsfete" the sports fest, "NITTFEST", the inter departmental cultural fest and "AAVEG" the fest of, by and for the freshers. Library Resources: The modern Central Library has more tha2.5 lakh documents. The library subscribes to 8210+ e-journals and 1995+ e-books. Classrooms: are well equipped with modern amenties like audio visual aids and interactive learning environement. Sports and extracurricular activities: there is an indoor sports centre, a gym, and several courts and grounds for the various sports. There are atleast 35 clubs and groups listed in nit trichy. Hostel Facilities
In the boys hostel rooms, shelves, tables, chairs, cots are provided. The meal quality ranges from moderately low to moderately high, depending on the days. The menu is well curated. The registration for the mess and hostel starts during the admission of the college itself and updates can be viewed on the official site, nitt.edu the total hostel and mess fees per semester is approximately 45000 INR.
Admission
Eligibility: For the BTech program at NIT Trichy, you need a valid JEE mains score. Meeting the eligibility criteria includes securing >75% in the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Entrance Exam (JEE mains): JEE mains tests one's understanding of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, and my admission hinged on my JEE mains rank. A higher rank increases your chances of securing a spot. Application Process: 1. Finding the application form: the application form can be found on the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA). 2. Application fees: varies for different categories. Was rupees 1000 for me (male, general). 3. Application Dates: For me, the application form was to be submitted by 12th January. Make sure to check the official NTA website for up-to-date information. Reservation Benefits: I did not avail of any reservation benefits, however NITT follows the government reservation policy. Improvements in admission process: none whatsoever.
