I chose ECE because I was also interested in the basics of ECE which I learnt in my school and placement of ECE branch was really attractive . The faculty student ratio is around 1:18 . NIT Jamshedpur has 163 distinguished professors out of which 91.41% are Ph.D. holders . The teaching method is innovative as teachers teach through presentations , real life examples and also on the blackboard. I just completed my 1st semester exam , the exams were not very tough . A student who studies regularly can easily get very good grades in the exams . After every 2-3 months , mid semester exams are held and after every semester (around 5 months) , end-semester exams are held .

A total of 458 offers were made for 6 month internships in 2023 . Additionally , 177 summer internship offers were received. Popular recruiters were BNY Mellon , Tech Mahindra , Bajaj Capital and Atlassian . Average stipend offered to BTech students was around 40K per month . The training and placement (TAP) cell of NIT Jamshedpur provides all placement and internship details . The technical clubs at NIT Jamshedpur act as a knowledge sharing interface for like-minded individuals , showing them opportunities for live projects and workshops which may be very beneficial for the resumes of the students .

Students are eligible for internships from the 5th semester and for placements from the 7th semester . More than 750 job offers were made by over 250 companies in 2023. There were 90 first-time recruiters . Highest package from BTech was 83.4 LPA and average package was 15.98 LPA . Most students received package between 10-20 LPA . Placement rate stood at 98.87% . Adobe , Axis Bank, Atlassian and Oracle were some prominent companies that visited NIT Jamshedpur . 458 offers were made during 6 months inetrnships 2023 and 177 offers were bagged during NIT Jamshedpur summer internships 2023 . My plans after getting the degree are to give my corporate life all the time I can to excel at life .

The total fee is around 8.5 lakhs for BTech at NIT Jamshedpur. Tution fee - 1.25 lakhs/year Hostel fee - 20000/year Mess fee - 34000/year Other fee - 28000/year Many scholarships are available throughout the year . Scholarships like FFE (Foundation for Excellence) are available for the students. Scholarships are also available for the reserved candidates specially. At the time of admission , loan is easily accessible for paying the institute fees . All banks are present at the University building on the reporting day of college with exciting offers for the students. I personally have taken loan from Canara Bank .

The Cultural fest of NIT Jamshedpur is called CULFEST and is held in January-February. The Technical fest is called OJASS and is held between March-April . All course related books and journals are available in the library which is open from 9am to 9pm on all week days . Library remains closed only on Sundays . The classrooms are digitalised with projectors and smartboards along with blackboards . Centralised AC facility is also there for the students . Soundproof walls are present in the classrooms for better lecture experience . Sports activites are carried on throughout the year including sports such as Cricket , volleyball , basketball , athletics , chess , table tennis , lawn tennis and many more . The official sports fest of NIT Jamshedpur called URJA is held every year between October-November . All students have the opportunity to shine in their respective sports . Many clubs(debate,quiz,technical,acting,modeling)are there for students to enhance their co-curricular skills.

The rooms are average sized and in 1st year 2 boys and 3 girls have to share a room . Wifi facility is present in the hostels . The mess is really good as variety of meals are available every day of the week . Veg and non-veg food (Non-Veg food is available 3 days of the week) are available and meals are given 4 times in a day . Hostel fee is around 10000 per semester and rooms are allotted to every student on the offline reporting day . Room or PG facility is not easily available around the campus .

Admission in NIT Jamshedpur is taken through JEE Mains exam held every year twice ( end January and beginning April) . The eligibility criteria is securing percentage above 75% in board exams of class 12th . The application form is available on the official jee mains website every year one month before the exam . Filling the application form costs around 1000 INR for general/OBC/Gen-EWS male candidates and 800 INR for general/OBC/Gen-EWS female candidates . It costs 500 INR for SC/ST/PwD candidates . I personally belonged to the Gen-EWS male category . Cutoff for ECE branch in NIT Jamshedpur was around 20000 AIR . My AIR was 21261 , so my category benefit was availed and I got ECE branch . Jee mains is held in different shifts and not all students have to give the same paper . The evaluation process is appropriate but I still think that all students should be made to give the same paper on the same day like NEET exam .
