Course Curriculum Overview
I have chose this course because of my passion in the field of mechanical engineering. In the mechanical engineering department the faculty:student rato is approximately around 1:20. The minimum qualification for the faculty is a Ph.d. and the lab assistants under the faculty are actually the PhD student under the teaching faculty. The term exams would be of 2 phase mid sem and end sem each within a span of 2 months. It is rather easy to pass the exams with a minimum preparation.
Internships Opportunities
There will be a lot of companies for giving the internships like Bajaj, johndeere, ExxonMobil etc... The major of the intern would be trainee. As I have not landed any internship yet I cannot describe the exact job description. The average stipend would be around 30000 per month.
Placement Experience
Students will be eligible for campus placement from 7th sem. There are a lot of famous companies visits for placements like Honda, Bajaj, Ashok Leyland, L&T, Reliance, etc.. for mechanical engineering department there will be a placement of around 80% every year on an average. I will be opting for a job after graduation
Fees and Financial Aid
The tution fees for the each semester would be 62500rs. And the hostel (including mess) per year would be around 50000rs. And 10000 for the course registration and some other extra fees. So cost to study would be 185000rs per year. OBC students can opt for NSP scholarship of 10000 per year. The government also provides you with the tuition fee remission based on your parents income. For income less than 1lakh - full fee remission. For income between 1lakh to 5 lakh - ? fee remission. For income greater than 5 lakh - no fee remission.
Campus Life
Annual fest of our college is Sparsh and techfest is mindbend and there most probably held in the months of Feb or March of every year at the same time. There is wide variety of books that are available in the library. At the very least you can get books of your courses. As the college is mainly under renovation don't expect much from the amenities of classrooms. Sports are having a good progress from the previous year. And there are a lot of extra curricular activities that would help to develop your passion. CHRD, Pheonix Aero, Pheonix Racing, Dhrishti, IIW SVNIT, CAC, CCAC, MINDBEND, SPARSH, etc... you could get more from the official website of SVNIT.
Hostel Facilities
You will be provided by a room with double occupancy, internet, a bed, a study table and a chair. The quality of food depends upon every hostel. If have to give a rating of food it would be around 5. It will be done on the website of SVNIT for the payments. I guess it is quite affordable.
Admission
Eligibility: 12th class, Application form will be available at official website of JOSAA. OBC reservation can get decrease your cuttoff percentile for the admission. I don't want to see any improvement because it was most probably in its best format.
