Remarks
This college is best to state engineering college of Madhya Pradesh. But due to some management failures, students suffer a lot. This college is good for academic purpose but not for extracurricular activities. I would rate this college 3 out of 5.
Entrance Preview
One should fight Jee mains exam to get admission in this college. My score in jee mains was 141 & rank was 27000. This is the best state engineering college of Madhya Pradesh. That's why I took admission in this college.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure is designed very properly. As MITS is an autonomous college, course, and syllabus are designed by college administration itself. It's affiliated to rgpv but works on its own terms. This makes the functioning of college smooth. The subjects that are chosen in course curriculum are also part of many competitive exams.
Internships Opportunities
No. My college doesn't provide any internship. But it helps students to get training and internship from various industries & other places.
Placement Experience
The placement ratio is 2:3. Most students are placed in IT companies. Limited no of core(mechanical, electrical, civil) companies visit here, so core branch students also have to take IT jobs. The working of training & placement department is not up to the mark. Placement training sessions are not held at regular interval.
College Events
Regular workshops are held by the college for different branches under TEQIP. Students are also carried to industrial visits, this improves there technical knowledge. A cultural fest is also organised by college in every 2-3 years. There are almost 50 small technical & not technical events host by students in every semester.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is very feasible. As this college is a joint venture of state government and scandia engineering society, there is no shortage of funds. The fee structure is as follows. 1st year. - rs.60000 2nd year. - rs. 54000 3rd year. - rs. 52000 4th year. - rs. 48000
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, there is a scholarship facility provided to students who cannot afford their fees. The beneficiary must be of Obc & Sc/St category. They are provided with almost 50% of scholarship. The hostel fees for SC/ST students is 'nill'
Campus Life
Campus life at MITS is not that much interesting because of 42 acres of campus and limited resources. 33% of college seats are reserved for girls that make the gender ratio 1:3. Only some students get chance to represent the college in sports(at most 20 in all sports). This makes the college low in extracurricular activities.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel for girls is very good. All girls studying in MITS Gwalior live in a seven-story hostel. The food cooked in girls hostel is of good quality. 50% boys of MITS live in the hostel as there is limited no of hostel for boys. Construction of new hotels are going on that would get complete till coming session.
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors very helpful and friendly. The campus is 100% ragging free. In my 3 years of college, I never heard of any ragging incident in the campus. The alumni network is also very strong and regular functions are held for them.
Exam Structure
MIT's gwalior is an autonomous college. It's independent of organizing exams as per its convenience. There are 2 mid-semester exams in a semester with one final sem exam. Average of 2 midterms are taken. The exam structure is very good with 0% of loopholes and imperfections.
Admission
The admission process is very simple. A state wise rank is generated by DTE MP out of jee mains. On the basis of that rank cut off rank for each branch is set. After that students are alloted branch & college on the basis of that rank. The whole process is online.
Faculty
The faculties & non-teaching staff is highly qualified. Most teachers are m-tech & Ph.D. degree holders. Some teachers are from TEQIP. Faculties also help students in research and innovation field. The teachers are of very friendly nature. They always motivate students to do there best.
