Course Curriculum Overview
I was preparing for govt exams but couldn't clear any. So I decided to try my hand in this field by acquiring b. Ed govt seat. Also I have always enjoyed teaching. There are 47 students in the class and 6 teachers. All the teachers are excellent. And also very humble. There is no pressure of any kind on students. Classroom environment is very light and easy. Almsot all faculty members are phd holders, and all are highly Qualified. Lectures are more like stories rather than conventional notes making type. Internals exams and externals are held once in each semester. The level of the examination is easy. A student can easily pass after studying the syllabus. There ave been many assignments given and activities performed. Class tests have also taken. There are 4 lectures in a day. Classes are taken Regularly. DAV's b. Ed is quite different from other ug pg courses. There is regularity in everything.
Internships Opportunities
We went on teaching internship. Schools were allotted to us by college. It was a very good experience. This internship was unpaid and part of b. Ed curriculum. In first semester the internship was for 10 days. In second semester it was of three months. During the internship We were given many assignments and reports to make. And we made our syllabus plan, on our own, for teaching children.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for b. Ed is only 3800 per year I.e around 8000 for the full B. Ed course. It is very inexpensive to study in this college. Condition is you have to get your name in merit list. if you are from general category, there's no scholarship you get from this college. Also there's no provision of on campus job.
Campus Life
There is quite good availability of books in library. But there is no facility to study in library. You can only issue books for home. Classrooms are very very old, average and basic. Even needing overhaul and renovation. Seats are also not very comfortable. Infrastructure of this college is not really appreciable. The building of whole college, especially b. Ed department is very old. There are regular extra curricular activities conducted on every occasion. But they are on a very small scale. Not everyone participates. And budget is also very low.
Admission
In order to enroll in B. Ed course in DAV , it is compulsory to appear in cuet pg b. Ed entrance test. I gave my entrance test in June 2022. Results (marks) came at the mid of August. Then DAV's portal for online application started. DAV's merit list was released by the end of august. And admission for b. Ed started in the first week of september. The cuet entrance for b. Ed was of 400 marks. DAV's merit was 200 for general category. I got 225 marks and got my name appeared in the first merit list only. It is to be noted that there are only 50 seats in b. Ed (25 for arts and commerce combined and 25 for science). This 50 seats are also divided on the basis of reservation. For instance out of 50, only 25 seats are for general category. Rest are for reserved categories. After the release of cuet score, you have to keep checking college's website as application process is online. The application fees was only 35 Rupees. It is important to fill application form as soon as possible.
