Course Curriculum Overview
I have keen interest in motorsport industry which made me choose mechanical engineering in Indian Institute of technology Kanpur. Faculty to student ratios can be found at IITk official website. There are mid terms, end terms and tests between them and before mid terms. Curriculum is hard.
Internships Opportunities
Professors give projects to students and also around 150-200 students get campus internships. Off campus internships are also very easy to avail. Grade should be very good for in campus internships with some skills.
Placement Experience
Placements start after 7th semesters. This year Microsoft and Fujitsu made most of offers. 80% students get placed and the criteria for placement is cgp grade above 7 points. Highest packages are above 2 crores always.
Fees and Financial Aid
There is no policy on fee hike and there are several scholarship including 33% fee or full fee waiver. There are further many scholarships for ews, women and students under reservations. Loans are also easily available.
Campus Life
Library is one of the biggest here , P.k kelkar library. There are three fest throughout the year, tech fest , culture fest and sport fest. Many extra curricular activities , and inter iits also held.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are average, but food is exceptional here the mess services are really good and have many messes and canteens throughout the campus. College is approximately 15km from city center and connected via metro.
Admission
Admission through JEE two part exam mains+advanced. Application forms at government website officially conducting jee mains. Mains rank not used for councelling and only jee advanced rank used for josaa councelling.
