Course Curriculum Overview

I wanted one of the top iits and chemical was the branch i was getting with my rank. There is about 1 professor per 200-300 students in a course and 1 teaching assistant per 30-40 students. Faculties have Phd from foreign reputed universities. Term exams are mid-semester and end- semester along with quizzes. Grading is relative and if you study, you usually are above average.

Class Size: 1200Course Fees: INR 300000 per year

Internships Opportunities

A lot of top companies like goldman sachs, nvidia , quant companies provide internship opportunites and stipend ranges from 40k to 1.5 lakh per month. Course projects and under various clubs can be done

Placement Experience

Most students get placed in the 1st semester of 4th year. I am aware that around 500 offers were made in 4-5 day of 1st placement drive. Companies like goldman sachs, hsbc, airbus, jp morgan visited the campus.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees is comparatively cheaper than the private colleges and negligible for reservation categories. They offer scholarships for ntse scholars and those who are economically weak. I didn't avail any scholarsip since i don't belong to any reservation category.

Campus Life

To participate in sports teams, you have to be alresdy good at them although you can avail coaching for various sports at relatively cheap prices. Also, there are gym facilties. 3 Fests are organized each year along with multiple summits and competitions

Hostel Facilities

First year hostels are new and the facilities are slowly increasing compared to the older hostel. Mess quality is average in the first year hostels but quite good in the senior hostels. Rooms are relatively small for double sharing.

Hostel Fee: INR 26000 per year

Admission

JEE Advanced and JEE mains, application form is on jee main and jee advanced website, usually takes place in november for mains and 1 late april for advanced. No reservation availed. Admission process could be improved by increasing exam difficulty.

Placement Experience:

After 6 th semester you are eligible for campus placement. Many companies are comes likes Accenture, Cognizant, Wipro, TCS, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Cagegimini etc and they offer decent package. Highest package 3000000 and average package 400000 and profile offered as for company required. 80 percentage student get placement. Take a placement in good MNC company.

Actually I didn't research on the placement. But in college campus I saw many boards of placed students and the average package is around 4-4.5lakh per annum.and college data says about 90%of students are placed. I am preparing for both off-campus and on campus placement.

Our college offer good placement it has average placement of 11 Lpa. Highest package of 52 lpa in Google. There are many company like TCS, L&T, GOOGLE, MICROSOFT, IBM and many more visited our college. If you have CGPA greater than 7 then you are eligible for maximum placement drive. My plan is to get government job.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I want to be a software developer. The faculty are very kind and helpful. Almost every faculty member has completed there post-graduation from various established colleges. The examination scheme is a little bit slow here. Students can pass their semester exams if they are paying at least 45 per cent of their concentration.

I choose this college becouse of its flexible acdemic structure and its great Alum connections. Also this is the best college i am getting according to my rank and my interest in mathematics. I have Applied for IIT delhi in electronics. IIT Delhi is also a great college but when it comes to academic focus IIT delhi lacks there. Also there faculty administratation is so strict. if a student wants to start something or he/she has a new iniative for the college , he/she will face hard time. So I couldn't make it to IIT Roper CSE branch because my jee adance rank is not that great for the Roper' Computer science. So the Admission process here at IITK is not difficult. You just the originaly document which you have submitted in your josa counselling portal and you need to verify it once here usually a couple opf hours work. Life @ IITK

I chose IIT Kanpur over othe rcooleges because of its academic reputation, research opportunities and strong alumini network. I was also able to get seats in other IITs but I preferred IIT Kanpur due to its legacy . I didn't face rejections, but did not opt for some colleges even after qualifying due to lower research output, weaker placement stats.
