Dislikes
- Campus:- The campus building is old but still decent, but when you campare to othe IIT and Nits you will regret it
Course Curriculum Overview
I have opted for IT ,as it's syallabus and packege(18lpa avg) was same as cse ,and also due to health issue I want to live in Home state. And the course of Nits are one of best among all India . Talking about faculty they are highly qualified like most of them are from IITs , Nits and other well known colleges, but there teaching quality and methodology is poor compared to coaching and online teachers . The student to teacher ratio I would say there is 2 -3 teacher for a subject.. So I have heard there are 1 teacher for 15-20 students but still you have to not depend on others, because in realty you have to complete assignment, project, prepare for viva , praticals and exams ,...so at last you have to prepare through some popular YouTube channels for passing and maintaining good grade .I would say as you have cleared jee passing exam isn't that difficult but you have to prepare enough just be ready enough for your weak subject exams.
Internships Opportunities
Intership in college is better than most of colleges, but still first you have to learn about a desired field and acquire necessary skills and in the end . If you have time left in 2 or 3 Rd you can join for internship.Just create a linkdin account and ask seniors for tips and find a company for the internship, also many paid and free intership also happens..You will get many WhatsApp link for internship group but I would suggest just be prepyfor yourself and then think about getting internship,as if you prepared yourself. Then there is better chance to get internship and also you get decent stipend and income .But I would say NiT tag will give you internship but it's completely on you to manage internship with college life ,get require skills and learn from it.. But in reality doing this hard as getting into NIT again hence be a hardworking guy rather than copying guy ,I want to say don't rely on smartwork only ..Be prepared hard ,ask seniors for the paths or from genuine source
Placement Experience
For Btech ,The placements of Nitrr is good from most of colleges in India ,still no college can give you 100% placement, hence I would say placements of ITand Cse are excellent (90%+ ) if you are eligible and avg is 18lpa ,which is very good figure but for rest ece,ee this is difficult to get placed but you can pull 13lpa avg ,and as cg is famous for mining it has decent (11lpa ) placement, and other branches have same 9-10lpa placements, but I will recommend try to get better branch because for lower branch placement % is 75-80% of eligible students. Hence and most of people are placed to decent companies but you are good in coding and have prepared hard enough you can pull 55lpa from any branch, but have to work hard in acedmics and for placement too ,so if you can sacrifice your time then ,NIT Raipur is for you and you can pull decent ,since nearly 100+ company visit every year..and 75% placement in overall btech of eligible students. So try to be eligible and get require skills too.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees is 1.5 lakh per year and so you can assume 75k per semester for the college which is just like for good private college, for hostel there will be extra charge. And there are many benefits for st,sc candidates because they just have to pay 10-20 k per annum for thee college and also middle class people belonging to Gen,OBC,,Ews whose income is less than 5 lakh have to pay 60 k fees something which is 1/3 of overall fees that's big relief and for people whose income is less than 1lakh there is no fees for the college they just have to pay fees for other things like hostel, stationary,etc...And there are many scholarship programs here but most of them are for lower income groups. And I think for level of NIT the fees is little higher but it's on city centre which is also justified.
Campus Life
In terms NIT the campus is poor ,just 100 acres (most of them are useless) and we don't have proper sports facilities and most importantly there is very less seats in hostel (25 seats for each branch from 3 semester). Also all branches are in same building you will not get that dream Nit campus, but there are many Pgs and you are in main cities which is only good thing. Talking about college Life it's better for hosteler and it's little more struggle for other peoples. But you will definitely learn from it. Also for freshers if you can made good connections with senior then you can definitely join a club of your interest just give your time too .And fest in NITRr happens 1 after the admission of 1 year students and 1 during Jan -Feb season, but I will say it could be better, don't have big hope just enjoy it with your friends..Are there are many club and other events happens daily,so if you are are active you can join them..But all this happens until exams since all years exams overalaps
Hostel Facilities
There are very few seats in hostels, for 1st year it's totally on your jee mains rank and state from which you belong, If you belong to chhattisgarh and live in near 30km radius of Raipur just forget about hostel, and also you should have a decent rank or good branch mostly IT,Cse ,Ece and few Ee students get hostel and left other branches students are very less numbered in 1 st year.75% seats are for other state and 25% homes state.And. For 3 sem you hav e bigger hostel in which all left years /course people live and in each branch there is only 25 seats in which there is reservation based on category and Marks you can get hostel.(Note you must have SBI Bank account)..The food is definitely better than near mess and tiffin system, but still not good as home .Also the hostel is very cheap (55k per year) ,but most people will live outside of campus so you have rent a pg and depend upon mess ,which coss 6k+ per month but there are many Pgs/hostel nearby.
Admission
For entering to NIT Raipur a person has to clear jee mains with securing a decent percentile score(90-100+ marks for Hs quota and 130+ for Os quota) depending on branch, category and if he/she is from home state then they have good advantage than other states like in my case I was belonging to home state quota (as I gave 12th board from chhatisgarh), also he/she has so score 75% above in 12th for Jee Maine eligibility..After this you have to participate in jossa and then csab counselling for getting you desired branch depending upon you rank..Then if you got seat in this college congrats,. Now check college website regularly and wait for admission process in which you have to bring 16-18 documents. And it is better if you have any senior in touch for this admission process.. Talking about reservation ,in 100% seats 50-50 % is being divided by homes state and other quota and then from this 50% there is reservation for st,sc,obc, ews, etc.
