REVIEWING SVNIT

I choose mechanical course because of my interest in core field and also my jee percentile allow me to take this course only. In mechanical department, faculty student ratio is quite good, we have around 1000 students in mechanical and around 70 to 80 teachers. Most of the teachers are friendly and qualified, having good knowledge about their subjects. Some of the teachers are strict about 75% attendance criteria but most are chill. In one semester, we have two main exams midsems and endsems of 30 and 50 marks respectively. Other than these, class test and lab tests are also part of curriculum.

Companies like bajaj auto, John deree, atkin reals, ge healthcare, saint gobain vists campus to provide internship opportunities for 3rd year students. Many more tech companies like mastercard, delloite, amazon also visit for internship to the coding students. We have a major projects in our curriculum which starts from 6th semester.

College placement record for svnit is good in past years. In mechanical we have around 90 percent placement with 7 lac average package offered. Companies like amazon, flipkart, Delloite, John Deere, l&t, etc visit every year.

For non-fee remission student, you have to pay 69,500 for odd semester and 62,500 for even semester. As a fee remission student you will get 2/3rd college fee off. For student below family income 1 lac and for St/sc student, no college fee will be charged. However, the hostel and mess fee remains same for all categories.

Campus life is quite good, interesting and fun. Svnit has 3 days techno-managerial fest, which is biggest of its kind in gujarat. We also have 4 days cultural fest SPARSH and it is full of fun, you really enjoy these 4 days with your friends. Both the events are conducted in April. Svnit has a big central Library which have all the book, journals, comics, e-books, religious books. The reading room and computer room facility is also provided in library. Classrooms are good and big in most of the departments. Some department are old, but new construction is going on to make new departments. Sports facilities are very good I'm svnit for all sports and specially for cricket. We have inter year tournament in all sports and also host the inter-nit sport events. We have some good clubs and societies like FSAE, dhristi etc for techical activities. Chrd is one big club which accomodate 7 different chapters in the cultural field.

Hostel facilities are quite good svnit. The rooms are big and have unlimited high speed internet facility. Two bed, two chairs and cupboard is also available. Single rooms are also available for 3rd and 4th year students. Mess facilities is good, we have three time meals in a day with special meal on Sunday. We also have one mess off in every two weeks. The mess quality is good in most of the hostels but quality nof food in two or three hostels are really bad.

The admission process is smooth but little lengthy. First you have to take jee-main entrance exam and clear it with percentile generally above 95. The branch you will get depends only on your percentile. For cs or it branch you need around 98 or 99 percentile, core branches like mechanical, electrical you get around 95 to 97 percentile. As as part of admission process you have to follow josaa or csab process for fee payment and document submission. The jee form generally releases around December for first attempt and around March for the second attempt. You will get fee remission according to family income:- Income<5 lac ----> 2/3 rd fee off Income<1 lac ----->no fee will be charged for college For sc/st students, no fee will be charged for college however hostel fee remains same. At the time of offline reporting you have to submit all the documents like 10 and 12th marksheet, aadhar card, medical certificate, allotment letter.
