My college is an end destination to knowledge , learning , joy , social life. Best place to shape your doctoral future. College management is keenly devoted in the betterment of institute.

Entrance Preview

I cleared NEET-UG 2014 in my second attempt. On a score of 415 Outta 720, I ensured my seat from state government quota under an unreserved category. Well at this score I had undergone extensive counseling process and at the end of second round counseling, I opted for this college. I had other options too. Dental, veterinary, Ayurveda, homeopathy, agriculture, fisheries, and biotechnology to name a few but career prospects are brighter in medical degree MBBS so I have chosen the best for me.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

MBBS course structured as a series of three professionals. The first professional lasts for 1 year, second for 1 and a half years. The final professional is divided into two parts viz first part and second part each of 1-year duration. This all sums as 4 and a half years. Afterward, graduates have to master a compulsory internship program for 1 year. Research work runs parallel to the course. Intensive training can be taken by the department of interest.

Internships Opportunities

A compulsory internship of one year is required for holding the MBBS degree. My college provides the same. For many years the general stipend is 10000 Rupees per month and it is expected to be raised. The internship program is quintessential for overall development as it pertains to expose the graduate to real life medical problems of population. Various departments organize postings for the variable duration in an internship. The internship program is exhaustive yet fruitful.

Placement Experience

5

Placement and jobs are guaranteed as there is never ending need of doctors . Almost each graduate has job after degree completion. Graduate join rural health centers, district hospitals, private hospitals as per their choice after the internship. Many graduates start their intensive preparations for post-graduation entrance examinations such as NEET PG, AIIMS PG , JIPMER, PGI CHANDIGARH, etc. Packages start from no less than 40000 per month and run up to 2-2.5 lacs per month. Our college is a promising institute for placements and job. It has given many good doctors for the country and abroad.

College Events

5

A cluster of events is organized and celebrated around the year that includes an annual cultural festival named RHYTHM - the most awaiting and exhilarating celebrations. Quizzes, poster making, skit, awareness campaigns, CMEs , Symposium, workshops, blood donation camps, etc are to name a few. RHYTHM is a culmination of various cultural, academic, sports and fine arts events that last for a week.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The college is funded by state government . Fee is nominal. Annual fee is close to 43000 per year including hostel accommodation fees of 5000 on an yearly basis . Mess fees is exclusively charged around 2000 per month in hostels. Various scholarships are awarded by government and other companies like Coal India . Being a government college the fee is nominal and equal for each professional. Stipend is given in the internship program at the end of graduation.

Fees and Financial Aid

A major scholarship is provided by state government to the students admitted under the reserved category that counts to 50000 rupees an year. Some sort of help is also extended by companies like Coal India to their wards. Education Loans are provided by a bunch of government and private sector banks.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life is full of joy and satisfaction. Gender ratio is much appreciated with an equal number of girls and boys . College musters students from all corners of the country as they are admitted from all India quota too. No students from overseas . Students of all sects and economic strata are blossoming happily. Sports competitions are held annually as college and intercollegiate festivals . Numerous extracurricular competitions such as debate , speech , extempore, quizzes , poster making , campaigns ,etc are held round the year . They are worth appreciation.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

There are seperate hostels for boys and girls. Numerous 5 - storied blocks are there for accommodation . Seperate hostels for interns and junior residents . Ragging free campus is ensured . Good security services are employed . A room is shared by two students . With raised annual intake of newly admitted students the hostel seats are few . Accommodation is provided on first come first served basis. There is residential area near college premises harbouring a fairly good number of PGs with average rentals near to 3000 rupees per month .Essentials such as safe drinking water , regular cleaning, sanitation , recreation modes (such as television is set in hostel mess ) . Gymnasium which will be soon fully equipped. Sports arena for badminton, cricket, football, basketball, carrom, chess and table tennis is something to boast of. Uninterrupted electricity supply is ensured. The rooms are not equipped with an air conditioning system is a major missing. Mess food is run by the students itself and is more or less acceptable. The hostel will be fully equipped with WiFi amenities very soon as much of the work is done. College student union is framed to look after the issues of students.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior - Junior interactions are at par excellence. Seniors and alumni are connected round the clock . Support is enormous and help in building bright future . Frequent alumni meets in hostel strengthen the supportive environment.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is pretty good . Semester exams are student friendly (pun intended) . At the end of each professional the CG health Ayush University takes theory and practical exams in which serious preparation is required. There is an essential preparatory leave atleast for a month after the pre University MBBS examinations . Theory exams are of subjective type of 3 hours duration pen and paper test under strict vigilance. Students are supposed to obtain at least 50 percent result in both theory and practical in each subject to pass the professional.

Admission

Passed my senior secondary exams from CBSE board . Appeared for NEET-UG . Cracked it by score of 415/720 . Undergone CG state counseling by DME , CG . In second round of that I got my medical seat . The counseling process was very extensive and of prime importance in selecting college .

Course Curriculum Overview:

The main aspect that influenced me is the externals and clinicals that made by decision to take this course because more than theory is the postings and clinicals which are neccessary to become a good doctor and also helps you to gain confidence. This is not just a curriculum but is a priority academics that prepares a student to save ones life which is far more important than just learning or reading. And yes it prepares us very well through clinicals and postings in addition to theory lectures or exams. As per my view, improvements in posting durations is very important than theory durations due to the priority. And yes teaching methods may get improve if some more fresh cadavers may get introduced in college every year. Exam are held in two phases, 3 terminals and 1 final. 3 terminals are held whole year with 3 to 4 months gap and finals at the end of the semester which is the final exam. Terminals exams are easy and quick whereas finals are tough and time consuming.

Course Curriculum Overview:

If you're getting into MBBS, you have cleared neet and you have a slight idea of what you're getting yourself into. The subjects are tough, especially anatomy, because of the vastness of the subject. But if you're consistent and making lil efforts everyday, it's achievable without hampering the fun part of college life. Here are a few gem of resources that everyone uses for first year. Biochemistry - jambhulkar notes, Vasudevan/ satyanarayan book Lippincott for advanced studies Physiology - Sembulingam and Guyton. I swear by them. It doesn't get any simpler than this. Ganong for in depth studies Anatomy - Johari for exams Vishram Singh for easy to understand language and super simple diagrams Gray's anatomy for in depth understanding. Embryology - vishram Singh Histology - IB Singh Dissection - Cunningham or Mercy Navis There will be 2 terminal exams 1 pre University and then the final University. Don't rely on lectures to prepare you for this. You'll have to teach yoursel
