Navigating beyond the books:unvieling the BMS college of Engineering experience.

I chose the Information Science because seeing the growth of this field in today's time is more than anything else. Plus i do have some sort of interest in coding so I went with IS. The faculty of the course is very soft-spoken, not strict at all, handle every student very gently, do not put any kind of pressure on them and the main thing is that they have knowledge of what they are teaching or the subject they handle. Everyone hold a Mtech. or a Phd degree in their respective field. The exams are like I will not say that they are easy but not hard also, you will be given proper time between exams so that you can prepare well for them.

The companies which came for internship oppurtunity were AKAMAI, FIDELITY INVESTMENT, SAMSUNG and many more. The college projects include some major project and some minor which are the AATs in course only. Got to learn a lot of things through them .

Placements are good in the college. You are provided a lot of good and excellent oppurtuinitie for the placement. The comapnies start coming to campus from the end of your 6th semester. The highest offer of this year is VISA near 33 lacs per annum, and the average is near 11-12 lacs per annum. The percentage of students getting placed is more then 90%.

Regarding fees, there are three categories one is for student who come from KCET the locals who are from Karanataka, the other who come through COMEDK the non-Karnataka stusents and the third category is student who come from management. The three have different fee structure which depends on other conditions. But scholarships are provided in many criteria so that there is no financial burden. The avaerage package or CTC is nearly 10-12 lacs per annum. A very named and big MNCs come for campus placement provide great opputunities to students.

Campus life is excellent, college have a lot of clubs where students can explore their intersets. There are two fests held in a year one is the main fest called UTSAV, the other is a technical fest which have all the technical stuffs called as PHASESHIFT. Library is full of books, if you need any you can refer it and also you can study there itself. If by chance any book you need and is not present, you can inform the faculty they will help you to arrange that book. There is a big sports complex present in the college providing equipments and all for students to use.

Hostels are excellent. In a room you will be provided a bed, a mattress, wifi, table, chair, almirah, cupboards and the other necessary things. Hostel mess prepare good and healthy food suitable for everyone including veg and non-veg items. Yu can rent a room or pg nearby college only. There are a lot of present around the college.

So to get into the college first you have to appear in the examination called COMEDK. After this cut-offs will be released and then the counselling will start accordingly. The information related to the examination dates, last date to fill the form and other related information are present on their official website. The college do provide reservation to people belonging to karnataka, and a lot of other kind of scholarships are provided. Many other benefits are provided. The admission process start from counselling, then document verifications and all things related to the process take one or maximum two days. At my time due to COVID-19 counselling and other process were online. Just that the management should improve its working other than that the process was good and easy.
