Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Quite a few reasons for me to choose this course, including the course structure, pedagogy, flexibility, the ability to get an exposure to research, future prospects and so on. The faculty to student ratio is quite decent. The teaching pedagogy followed by most teachers is quite good and effective in imparting knowledge. All of the faculty have PhDs / are currently pursuing PhDs from premier instituitions of India and abroad. Exams conducted by the University of Delhi are well managed and punctual.

Internships Opportunities

4

Currently, I do not possess much data regarding the internships that are opted by students here. Personally, I got an internship at the edTech company called BeyondExams as a Community Manager and Prompt Engineer. In the past, students have interned at BARC, DRDO, United Nations, FMS, IIT Bombay, Doordarshan, IIM Bangalore, NTPC, Indian Oil, Purdue University, DMRC, Government of India, University of Delhi, The Hindu and many more places.

Placement Experience

4.5

On campus placements are offered for interested students. Most students, however, either go for higher studies or get off campus placements or bag PPOs. Currently, alumni of DU CIC are also the alumni of / currently enrolled in top institutes of India and abroad, such as Stanford, Harvard, UC Berkeley, Erasmus Mundus, IITs, IIMs and so on. Some other students went for startups. Placement rate (inclusive of all categories) is 100%. I plan to go for higher studies after my B.Tech.

Fees and Financial Aid

Currently, the tuition fees for this course are 40,000 rupees per annum, as set by the University of Delhi. Apart from that, students have expenses for their food, lodging, travel, refreshments and so on. In Delhi, boarding and lodging costs can vary from Rs. 7,000 to Rs. 30,000 per month, depending on the facilities and luxuries one opts for.

Campus Life

4

The annual tech fest of DU CIC called Convoke is conducted in the month of February every year. Librarires of Delhi University and Cluster Innovation Centre collectively have a huge collection of books and journals. Classrooms are fully airconditioned and equipped with modern amenities. Indoor and outdoor sports, gym, extra-curricular facilities are available at DU CIC. In order to get a detailed overview of the clubs run by the students of DU CIC, one can visit their pages on LinkedIn. Some of the clubs which went inactive during the Lockdown are being gradually revived.

Admission

Hello! I am Abitatha Roy, a student at Cluster Innovation Centre, University of Delhi, enrolled in the B.Tech Information Technology and Mathematical Innovations (4 years) course. In order to be eligible for this course, one has to score about 55-60% marks in their Class 12 board exams. The entrance exam accepted is CUET UG (English + Maths + General Test). No interview is conducted. However, I personally feel that an interview round should be conducted to be able to screen out students and successfully take in a creamier layer among the applicants. My AIR for this particular course was 23, plus I belong to the General Category, so my seat was allocated under the UR category.

Other Applied Colleges

Vellore Institute of Technology - [VIT] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

Fee structure on the higher side, competition high due to high intake of students.

Vellore Institute of Technology - [VIT University] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] + Master of Technology [M.Tech] (Computer Science & Engineering)

Did not want to bind myself to the same institute, wanted to give myself the chance to explore other options for masters.

Heritage Institute of Technology - [HIT] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Business Systems)

Got selected for DU CIC which is clearly a better option.

University of Calcutta | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Jute and Fibre Technology)

Got opportunities in other colleges for Computer Science.

University of Engineering and Management - [UEM] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

Not really worth it, many better options available.

Shiv Nadar University - [SNU] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

High fee structure, self-doubt regarding whether I would be able to consistently score well and continue my scholarship or not.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.

Placements are good in DTU. Usually a student is eligible to sit in placements from 4th year. Last year 325+ companies visited the campus like google, abode, Amazon, Microsoft, zomato, samsung, maruti suzuki, etc. They all have made 2050+ offers. The highest domestic package was offered by Atlanssian of 82.05LPA. The overall average package was 16.71LPA. The average package of my branch (Production and Industrial Engineering) was 12.34LPA. And in tech branches like CSE, IT it was around 24-25 LPA. Almost everyone is allowed to sit for placements. In PIE branch around 60-65% of student got placed in on campus.
