Life Changing time in college

Miranda is a great way to become an independent lady a school girl always dreams of. With all the opportunities it provides to each and every student, Mirandians are bound to carve a niche for themselves.

Admission in Miranda House is purely on merit-based cut off system. The marks secured in +2 level is the criterion deciding the admission. I chose the course I'm currently pursuing due to its renowned faculty and my interest in Computer science; and of course, I wanted to study in a prestigious institute, and Miranda is one such.

The Computer science students of Miranda have to study physics and mathematics as their core subjects, apart from the obvious, CS. The course is merit-based, with Practicals in physics and computers. The college further conducts several affordable add on courses like Operations Research and Data Sciences, to expand the knowledge banks of the students.

College doesn't specifically provide internships. Rather, there are internship fairs from which students join companies as interns. I'm currently in my second year and yet to join any internship so cannot comment about the experience but my seniors did enjoy their internship period. Average stipend varied as per the profile of the student.

Placement is the area where Miranda needs to work a little. Students get placements, but not as good as counterparts like SRCC. The college needs to push up in terms of companies visiting the campus for placements. I do not have much knowledge about the average package because it is not revealed openly.

The college campus keeps buzzing with activities every day- seminars, plays, department events, fests, rock shows and workshops are regulars. Students from all around the North campus participate in these. The college provides enough funds for organizing the events.

Being a Delhi University college, the fee of Miranda House is very less. The annual fee for the Computer Science course is Rs 16590 for the first year, which gets reduced to Rs 15600 in the subsequent year. This fee is very affordable and worth it because the course one gets to study and the overall development one undergoes in the college is worth the fee.

The college provides scholarships on academic merit basis in the final year of the students. Students from reserved categories get fee waivers.

Miranda is excellent in terms of extracurricular. There are ample opportunities in terms of overall personality development if one utilizes them correctly.

It's a dream of every Mirandian to stay in the college hostel. Since I'm a Delhi resident, I am not eligible to apply. But hostelers are quite satisfied with the hostel and the mess. It's affordable as well as picturesque.

I owe a lot to my seniors. They've helped me through every thick and thin of the college. They always guide students in terms of academics and activities and are quite helpful.

Internals in Miranda House are scheduled according to the students' convenience, but they are regular in nature. Hence it isn't much of a pressure, neither a chill environment.

The college is blessed with faculty, most of whom have been alumni of the college. Talking particularly about computer science department, teachers are friendly and cooperative. The teaching methodology is good. Classroom discussions sometimes go beyond the books, with students getting involved in discussions regarding day to day events.
