Likes
- College surroundings and the friends. The outing times were much better before 4 years I probably dont have any idea about the hostel timings now. Once you enter the final year the faculties teach and talk to you like they are your friends
- You would get a lot of insights from the experienced faculties
- Campus life is very fun and the surrounding area is friendly and beach and pubs are nearby.
Dislikes
- There are probably no dislikes but it would be great if the campus is cleaner
- The infrastructure is good so can’t really complain about the infrastructure
- The staffs are mostly friendly and strict so it makes a good place
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum was better and well planned but the faculty members are fun and serious depends on the person. Student ratio is higher but it gets higher in the 2 nd year as the polytechnic folks join the course too. Most of the faculties have phd. If not they will be in the process of getting their doctorate. There are semester exams every 6 months and before each semester exams we have 3 internal exams and the questions are tough.
Internships Opportunities
The internship offers are very rare but you would get alot of field demonstrations if you take up civil or mechanical and you will be able to visit alot of companies and you might get an insight and idea but internships are not really available.
Placement Experience
In the final 3 semesters students become mostly eligible for the campus placements. Some folks get even chances even in the earlier semester. Companies including wipro, and civil related companies visit and they make very Little amour of offers comparing to the student strength of the college. The average package would be 3 lakhs and to my knowledge I believe the highest package would be 7 lakhs. Percentage is low. Plans would be finding a good job as the university holds a reputable name.
Fees and Financial Aid
The cost of study is very affordable comparing to the private universities and the scholarships are given based on the government applied rules. Most the of scholarships is based on the communities. And it would be better if you do not expect any jobs on campus with stipend
Campus Life
The annual fest and tech fests are completely fun and good. Extra curricular activities are based on the studies and field works and in sports they give good importance to volleyball and kho kho. Social groups in face book and instagram in the name of the university is mostly run by the old students and some teachers.
Hostel Facilities
Youll be given a good room and a bed in the hostel and the rooms are pretty large. You'll get a good natural space to walk and the restrooms are almost good most of the times. And the registration process for the hostel maybe a bit hectic but it worths because the accommodation rate very much affordable and it is much better to stay at hostel than taking any rooms outside the college. The meal quality is mostly fantastic. Nagercoil would be to locality if we are looking for rooms and pg is mostly not available
Admission
The admissions process was completely based on grades and percentage of the 12 grade as it was a government college and staffs and the people working in the college were very helpful and cheerful during the admission process and they were kind. Application fees cost around 100-500. Reservation benefits are available according to the government rules.
