As such the college experience is good and a different one and the government can take many steps to improve the quality of education in their colleges.
Entrance Preview
I'm basically preparing for the army exams like CDS and NDA, therefore I chose this college as there is not much pressure of studies. There was no entrance test and the admission was on the basis of the merit cut off according to the 12th boards' percentage.
Course Curriculum Overview
As I've been a commerce student B.Com was the only course I wanted as it will also help me in my future prospects in the defense forces. B.com is not as such a practical subject but wherever there is practical application like in graphs we are explained pretty well. No such research by the college but the commerce society takes different research workshops.English Language and EVS are elective subjects.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, the societies such as NCC and NSS which i'm a part of has student exchange as well as summer school programmed if one qualifies. Moreover, we can ask the college for internship related support for international ones.
Placement Experience
Most of the students are either preparing for exams like IAS ,CAT, NDA etc. As such there is no good companies who come for campus selection and the students have to work personally in this matter and sort external counselling. However, some land up as teachers in schools and get salaries upto 25,000 rs.
College Events
The NCC prepares for the National festivals all year round.There are workshops held where we teach in slums or work for charity.
Fee Structure And Facilities
As it is a government college we have a very nominal annual fees of 2,800 Rs for 2 semesters and no extra examination fees is charged.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are scholarships for the underprivileged kids and also the state kids have some seats reserved.I didn't need to avail any scholarship . Loan facility is probably not there.
Campus Life
There is almost every society in college ,however most of them are dis functional. NSS and NCC are the only active ones for which I work keenly as it would help me in my passion to join the army.
Hostel Facilities
Currently there are no hostel facilities in the college and students stay in PGs or the local ones come directly from their homes. Pgs of course have sharing rooms and the average price is around 3000 per month,excluding food.Food quality is also good.
Alumni/Alumna
Most of the alumni are either in the government or in the teaching sector. But we hardly have any seminars or conferences to get to know more about them. Some of the teachers in the college are also alumni of DAV
Exam Structure
We have our internals and the main exams in the month of November and December. B.com does not have lab periods. Regarding the pressure about exams and studies , it is an easygoing affair.
Faculty
The faculty is pretty well qualified and experienced as the teachers have been teaching for the past several years. They are ready to take care of all students' questions .However, besides all this students are still required to go for personal tuition.
