MY COLLEGE EXPERIENCE

The overall college experience is not that good and nor too bad. There is no bus facility provided by the college. But we do have good unity among all in our department and the college. But the building is very worse and is not attractive at all. All I can say is that, the college is good in terms of teaching but weak in infrastructure and facilities.

No I did not have to write any entrance test to enter this college. I chose this college as it was a little bit close to my home and also as my relatives recommended it. No there was no interview process followed by the college. I chose this course as I was interested a lot in computers and it’s relative subjects.

The course I chose was good, according to the teaching offered here. There is about 45% practical knowledge provided by the college as compared to the syllabus so far. No there are no research initiatives taken by the college. We have no elective options as well.

Yes the college does get and provide internship but there are no internship offers available to our department. Yes they do give a good stipend amount, but I can’t say surely as I have no experience with internships.

No I have not been to any placement scenario yet so I have no experience with the scenarios. But I have some information that around 20% of the students got placed in the scenario. Several Companies visit the campus out of which majority of them are from IT sectors, such as Airtel, TechMahindra, Infosys, Wipro, HGS and so on. The average package was around Rs. 12,000.

Yes they do organize fest I our college campus. And most of the fests organized are more cultural based. The events organized are very big, and some even last for 3 days. I have no idea about the footfall, but it is mostly huge. Yes the college does help in organizing the events as they have assigned cultural members to host such fests.

The fees structure was pretty affordable for me. We have to pay around Rs. 30,000 for each semester or that would be equal to a duration of 3 months. The fees includes tuition fees, library fees, laboratory fees, and also placement training fees.

Yes our college does provide scholarship facility. But I did not have to avail any scholarship for my course. The college also does not provide any loan to students. But they do have third party educational loan sources nearby such as Karur Vysaya Bank.

Yes there are a few extracurricular events provided by our college. The extracurricular activities only include of sports. Yes they do provide ample opportunities that help us in discovering our inner talents and exploring it more. Yes they do have facilities to hold sport events. They also have a ground and a coach to train in sports.

Yes I do reside in the hostel. The rooms are in sharing and are medium in size. Yes there are a few PGs available close to the college. They do charge us about Rs. 4,500 per month or around Rs. 54,000 for a single year. The hostel food is very bad. There are no facilities of laundry, not even washing machines are available.

No we have no good network with alumni in our college. No the college doesn’t provide any platform for student- alumni interaction. No the alumni have never contributed to the development of the college, but we do a little contribution where ever possible.

The exams were a chill culture to me. But we have no internal exams held in the course provided by this college. And the semester exams held were easy for us but we only get leave between each subject only in our 1st & 2nd year of the course, but later, in the 3rd year we do not get any leave between exams.

The faculties in our college are well qualified as majority of them are PhD holders as well as all faculties are highly experienced, as we have no freshers so far. All our faculties are highly interactive as they are friendly with us and are available to us always. The standard of their teaching is very good.
