Course Curriculum Overview

Continuinig in applied geology after my B. Sc. In geology. Student to faculty ration is around 3 students to 1 faculty. All faculty are either phd holders or persuing phd. Regular semester exam after 6 months and frequent internals in between.

Class Size: 31Course Fees: INR 54850 per year

Internships Opportunities

Not yet done any intership but seniors went for sone internships recently and had good field exposure so a great experienced for them. Dissertation will also be a good learning experience. But the dissertation is to be done in 4th semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

Last year fees was around 54k, this year it's 60k. Therefore expensive for outside karnataka students. But very cheap for students coming from within karnataka. Scholarships available for local students... Not much for outsiders.

Campus Life

Not an engineering department so no tech fest but a lot of seminars conducted related to geology. Lots of books available in the central Library as well as departments own library. Projector, pc available in classrooms. Many spaces designated for different sports around the department.

Hostel Facilities

Bed, table chair given in rooms, mess food is decent taste wise but good good quality products used. Registration through banglore university official website. Hostel 5 mins away from department in walking distance.

Hostel Fee: INR 30000 per year

B. Sc. In any science subject required. Form is available at uucms website. Karnataka student fees around 15000, outside student fees around 60000. Simple admission process. Karnataka student with reservation fees less than 1000 for an tear

excellent in acedimics

Course Curriculum Overview:

1.I was very much intrested to be a scientist when i choose biochemistry because its one of excellent bioscience subject to pursue the carrier as good scientist and complete the phd in bio science field 2.I would say for further acedmic carriculum like to pursue phd and to complete bioscience related competative examination will be clear by just following acedimics but am not saying it will prepare for you to a real world . 3.teaching methods is excellent as i mentioned earlier but problem is they only stick to acedmics apart from that they didnt prepare for real world problem job getting moto that is problem 4.exams level of difficulty is mediatory not high or not low as of my knowledge but other say it very difficult exams nobody able to score more than 70%.

Food and nutrition articles in newspaper made me to take this course. As it had full scope in that time. Actually curriculum is very poor in preparing us for real world application. Practical session must include more of industrial visits and projects related to industry. We had enough time to study .

My Experience: The good and the Bad

Course Curriculum Overview:

I liked this biotechnology course in degree(Bsc) and i wanted to continue this course with higher studies. Hence this university is reputed one in Karnataka.. i choose this one and I got the seat and I am very happy for this. The teaching methods are really good but it depends on particular lecturers, how they teach .. For main sem exam the time was around 3 hours for 70 marks and it was moderate and can be manageable

In our department , 2 to 3 students are getting palcements. after i completed my degree , i want to research so i admitted in phd programmes.

The curriculum is fairly distributed among the 2 years. The first year broadly covers the course work, and learning of the laboratory techniques. Followed by a mini project and a major project under a professor of interest. Stem cell biology always intrigued me and this course offered exactly what I want. The curriculum focuses on training students very rigorously to make them fit for harsh conditions and situations in the real research world.

They provide good curriculum and better syllubus which covers most of the geology and oceanography topics especially physical and chemical oceanography, climatology, hydro geology and other topics but practically they seems little back they doesn't provide new instruments for surveying and oceanography they still following old techniques which is not relevantly used in this time
