Course Curriculum Overview
I have heard much about this college from various sources and was greatly impressed by its reputation. I got admission to the ECE branch as my rank was not good enough for the IT branch. Here, in this college, you will find a good faculty-to-student ratio. For lectures, we have a 1:100 ratio but for tutorials and practicals, we have a somewhat 1:10 ratio. The faculties here are very much qualified ,all have some active projects going on. We always got to learn something new from their vast experiences. Here exams follow CCLCAA curriculum(now it got removed for new batches, thankfully). You can search it on Google. Basically, in this, there existed a continuous evaluation, unlike most IITs, and this was the most important con I would say, where you would have to give evaluations in 3 parts every semester with lots of assignments and quizzes. But now our curriculum follows mid-sem and end sem like most of the colleges, though getting good cgpa is still not easy, as 8+ would be enough.
Internships Opportunities
Our college provides 2-month and 6-month internships. Various companies including Google, Microsoft, Apple, Adobe, Sprinklr, Atlassian, DeShaw, Arcesium, Goldman Sachs, Qualcomm, Intel, Oracle, etc, visited our college for internships. Roles included SDE, SWE, consulting, hardware design, etc. Most of the companies stipends lie from 80k to 2lac per month.
Placement Experience
The first and foremost thing that anyone would see about this college is the placements only and I would say it is as genuine in the real as in the online websites. Placements here are of top-notch. Every top company including Google, Sprinklr, Atlassian, DeShaw, Goldman Sachs, Apple, etc visits here every year for internships and placements. Here you will have the opportunity for 2-month internships also, though its numbers are not as high. But all the students here will get placed as in the recession also, our seniors are getting places with good packages. For previous batches, our average was 30lpa, but I think it will go down this year due to recession.
Fees and Financial Aid
Total semester fees here would be around 1lac per semester plus mess charges which is around 24k/semester. I would say it is cheaper than most IITs and IIITs, but the fact is that there is no economic condition-based fee exemption here, unlike IITs and NITs. So everyone has to pay equal fees. Though there are other scholarships including Merit cum for batch toppers every year, post-matric scholarships by respective state governments, etc. You can read about them on the official IIITA website.
Campus Life
There are three fests in our college; Effervescense (Cultural), Asmita (Sports), and Aparoksha (Technical). All these fests are organized at much higher levels. We have our own air-conditioned library which is good enough. Also, our classrooms are large and well-air-conditioned. We have good sports culture too and also we are hoisting the next Inter IIIT Sports meet. There are numerous clubs in our college including that of dance, music, drama, literary, fine arts, media, technical, and electronics.
Hostel Facilities
Our rooms are well superior to most IITs. Here from the first year itself, you get double bedrooms unlike triple as in most of iits. Also, our hostels are newly renovated with all facilities. Hostel food, I would say average as in most of the colleges. Though you would get non-veg food also here twice a week. Hostels you would get on the first day of entering the college. You would also have the opportunity to select your room partner. Hostels are just on the opposite side of the college.
Admission
To get admission into this college, one has to be in the top percentile in Jee Mains. Generally, the cutoff lies somewhere between 99.7 to 99.9 percentile for IT students and up to 99 for ECE students. So, one has to get enough good percentile to get into it. Yes, this college provides reservations and for OBC, the cutoff goes somewhat 98 percentile for ECE students. For SC/ST, the cutoff goes further below also. For recent year cutoffs, you can see them on collegedunia website.
