Course Curriculum Overview
The B.Tech CSE course in NIT Trichy is the highest paid in terms of placements. The quality of peers in this course in awesome. The course provides a good Faculty student ratio of 1:11. The faculty for these course are all PHDs. The teaching method is very good, Since the teachers are with huge experience, they are able to predict the hurdles, we student face while learning. Each semester of the course contains 2 cycle tests and one endsem examination. The relative grading system is followed for evaluation of grades. So, getting good CGPA is quite difficult because of quality of students studying along with us.
Internships Opportunities
Many companies offer internship for NITT candidates. Roles of web developer, app developer or a full stack developer may be offered under these internships with a good stipend. Some projects of our won are required to be created for getting the internship.
Placement Experience
The students become eligible for placements soon after 6th semester. While, they are eligible for internships from 5th semester. The tech giants like microsoft, google, amazon, etc. visit NIT Trichy. The highest package for year 2021 was 52 lakh in campus and the average for CSE department was 29 LPA. The thing to notice is off-campus placements are not included in the stats. Around 94% of students across all branches got placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for this course is around 62500 INR per semester. Altough, the reservation benefits are applied on the fees. If your family income is less than 5 Lakh then you will get 1/3 rd remission in fees. While, if it is less than 1 Lakh then you will get complete remission of fees. Several scholarships are present in campus, so the cost of study is not a big issue in such an institution. The placement statistics for the college are very very good. The average package offered to CSE graduates for year 2021 was around 29 LPA.
Campus Life
There are 2 cultural fests and 1 technical fest celebrated inside the college. The cultural fest are 'Festember' and 'NITTfest', while the technical fest is 'Pragyan'. Festember is celebrated in september and NITTfest in march-april. The best feature of NITT is the huge, students are allowed to borrow books for a month. Every classroom has a projector and a green board, with good quality benches. The sports facilities of the college are very good. There is a big NSO ground inside campus and an indoor complex, with 5 allied grounds for different activities. A sports fest called 'Sportsfete' is the interdepartmental sports fest of the college. There are many cultural and technical clubs inside the college.
Hostel Facilities
The rooms are 3 sharing with 3 beds, 3 cupboards and 3 table-chair. The meal-quality is pretty good, but the menu has many issues with it. Adjusting with south-indian food is must to survive here. Registration for hostel and mess is done through a website created by the technical club 'Spider' of NIT Trichy. A good accomodation facility is provided within campus.
Admission
To get admission in CSE department of NIT Trichy, you have to score more than 99.88%ile in JEE mains examination, if you belong to General category. For OBC category, the cutoff is around 99.81%ile. The details about application form and application dates for JEE mains are available on NTA official website. The admission Fees for the college depends on our category and annual income. If your income is less than 5 lakhs, you will get 2/3rd remission in course fee. The admission process for this college takes place through JOSAA, DASA, CSAB counselling. Foriegn candidates can participate in admission process through DASA counselling.
