Remarks
The overall experience of college life was very good. The college is good just need to focus more on practical knowledge rather than focusing on theory and getting good marks without having any concrete conceptual base for the subject.
Entrance Preview
Took UPSEE examination and got the college. There was no interview process. Always had interest in engineering and wanted to pursue it as a career.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course was not as good as i expected. Not much emphasis on practical knowledge. Focus is more on theory and getting marks.
Internships Opportunities
No the college did not provide internship. We had to take care of the internship on ourself. Also the strictness in maintaining 75% attendance made the internship suffer.
Placement Experience
Majority of students in CS and IT branch got placed easily. Cannot comment on other branches. Also the Major companies were TCS, Tech Mahindra, Sopra, IBM etc. The placement is ok i guess but the rule where a student if placed cannot sit in any other company's interview and students not alowed to skip any company's placement drive was just absurd. Due to this rule, many intelligent students got placed on very low package. The average package was around 2.5 lacs.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The course was not very affordable. the total fee for 4 year course was around 4.25 lacs approx. Hostel fee was additional. Around 70k per year (don't remember exact amount as i was a day scholar). So if overall fee including hostel is considered, it would cost around 7lacs.
Hostel Facilities
Though i was a day scholar but hostel did have single, double sharing and triple sharing rooms. The price was around 65k per year for boys for a triple sharing room. 70k for double sharing and 75k for single rooms. The food was not very good but manageable.
Exam Structure
The labs were frequent but the students were not made to write their own code. Few of the students wrote the code while the other just copied. The exams were good. The paper were designed to cover entire syllabus.
Faculty
The faculty was mixed i.e. there were few who had logical sense in teaching the subject. Focused on making students understand the concept rather than making them learn it. Also there were many who just got through the syllabus and were not able to clear logical doubts. But all in all, the faculty panel needed a few more teachers who would focus on making students understand rather than making them learn.
