Expensive yet worthy indeed.

This University is a good plateform for Engineering students that are seeking for practical knowledge and exposure rather than only theoritical and classroom knowledge. An higlighting feature of the university can be the Automobile Laboratory which is very large with a significant amount of instrument panel in the whole North zone. My overall campus evperience is excellent because of the great faculties and administration.

SRM Universities conduct an annual entrance test named SRMJEE in which you need to secure a healthy rank to be eligible for SRM University. This university was one in my list among other four as it hold a national recognation in Engineering. To be an engineering student in one of the campuses of SRM university you just need to clear the written SRMJEE and hold a better rank if you have a campus preference. Being a automobile enthusiast, I always dreamt of studing in one of the top engineering universities in India, the answer to which was SRM University.

The syllabus of the B.Tech - Automobile Engg. is excellent as I found over this years of study. Apart the campus have a huge exposure to practical learnings. The campus consist of different students’ team that participate in various national events such as SAE goKart, SAE Supra, SAE Electical goKart, SAE GolfKart, SAE Baja and Shell Eco-Marathon Asia. I was a participant of Shell Eco-Marathon Asia 2017 which was held in Singapore. The course provides a wide rage of electives to choose from namely Vehicle Maintenance, CAM/CAD, Industrial Automation, Design of Vehicle body and Aerodynamics, etc. which can be after 2 semester of the course.

Yes the University provides a choice of companies with recommandation for Summer Internships. The experience I gained from the Summer Trainning is up to the required standard for the competative market.

Placement scenario in NCR Campus however is low, only few companies visits the campus with very few vacancies. However you get choice of applying for placement from any campus of the University as desired by the student. Students from my batch haven’t been yet placed in any companies. Moreover, till yet for the current year placement process in Automobile engineering only TATA Technologies have visited the main campus and the average package for the same was 6.5 lakhs per annum.

The campus conducts numerous numbers of events every year. The annually held Campus Technical Event is “Innovate” and also various other technical events and seminars takes places in the campus. The annually held Cultural fest of the campus is “Rubaroo” adding to which different other events conducted by different departments and hostels are held to keep the energy bulid up for the students.

Being an SRM University’s engineering student is not of much affordable. The sum of fee around 1.5 lakhs is to be deposited annually. However further sub fees are also associated such as examination fees around ₹2500 every semester and hostel or bus fee is extra.

Yes, the University provides scholarship to the top three year toppers in form of annual fee waiver process. However, I didnot avail any. Yes the college helps in availing study loan from City Union banks with lesser interest fee as compared to normal conditions.

Yes the Univerisity provides a wide plateform to showcase your inner talent. One of such was debate competition on “Recent trends in automobile” conducted by iMechE 2016 in which I secured the first position. Apart, in sports, I secured the second position in marathon competition named Athelima 2016. Also the university boomed up the whole students’ team of Shell Eco Marathon Asia 2017, Team HyperGreen financially as well as technically from all aspects, in which I was the Team’s Vice-Captain and the Chief-Designer.

Yes, during my initial years of the course I was a hostel resident. The hostel rooms a sufficiently spacious with proper ventilation. However, for first year student the number of person per room is higher, i.e., 3 in 1, but for the second year students it is 2 in 1 room. The fee of hotel per annum was ₹75000 for non-airconditon rooms which have revised to ₹85000 in the current time. Moreover the advantages of being in SRM Hostel are many, specifically different years have different hostel blocks, four times meal - Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks & Dinner comprising of both veg and non-veg dishes, free unlimited wi-fi access, playground access 24 X 7, clean RO, UV & TDS treated water available all day and also warm water during the winters.

Yes alumni interaction is provided by the University in form of public speaking, general discussion, and motivators for projects. No there have not been any development contribution from the alumnis to the University or students yet.

During my initial years of engineering, the frequency of exams were greater, two cycle tests - each every month, a model examination and finally the semester examination. In whole, every month had an examination to prepare for. But in the recent time this frequency have been lowered to only two cycle tests and then the semester examination.

The campus consist of highly qualified professors - Ph.Ds and M.Techs basically with a good subject knowledge. Also they are very interactive to theory and practical quaries. The standard of teaching in classroom as well as in laboratories are very interactive and clear.
