Life at IIIT Allahabad

The course and curriculum is a little new for our batch as they have asked implemented the NEP from this year. I chose this course to fulfil my interest in the coding sector and to gain the ample opportunitiesthat come with this branch. Faculty department of the Btech sector is good enough. The teaching method of most faculties here is through presentation and the practicals are done in the lab with proper managment. Exams took plaace throughout the year. Each week there was some sort of quiz or viva or practicals. It was tough to deal with due to the continuous burden but we got through.

The cost of studies here is more than what I would have imagined from a government college. Each semester the fees sees a hike up which is not good for the students especially the one with financial crisis in the family.

The annual fest are effervescence, aproksha and asmitha are conducted with all laurels. The library here is vast but it is very hard to find stuff and books that you actually need in the semester. There is a very breif section of novels and fiction books. The classrooms are fine and equipped with the stuff needed most of the time. Sports and extra curricular activities are held most of the time. There are several socities taking care of that. The student council here is called Gymkhana.

The admission process was okay to be honest. They changed their dates very often and as many collge students are not from around here they had to reschedule their mode of transportation many times. But other than that the actual process went quite smoothly. The applicatin form,fees and dates could all be found on the erp portal of the college. Each and every deatil is uploaded there and it is okay to work with website. I did not avail any resrvation. The only improvement I would like to see in the admission process is the change of dates in the last moment and the layout of erp portal as it is very hard to work with.
