Remarks

This college is cool choice for the one who wants to lead a life in a disciplined way. But it doesn’t mean that there is no fun. You can enjoy your engineering student life to the fullest. You can cultivate the leadership skills here. You’ll find several opportunities to explore yourself. The support for the applications skills is excellent here.

Entrance Preview

I got to know about this college from one of my relative who is a senior lecturer in one of these institutions. He advised me to opt Computer Science, which has evergreen scope as well as this branch has good placement records in this college. CET rank with plus two certificate is sufficient to get an admission to this college and there are no more exams and interviews. Students who are from the same parent institutions are given higher priority during the admission process. But it doesn’t mean that they’ll disappoint you either.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Discipline is the way of life is the moto of this college and is strictly followed. The college is affiliated to VTU Belagavi (Vishweshwaraya Technological University), which is currently following CBCS scheme. My batch will be the last batch to have Unit scheme and our later batches will have this CBCS scheme, which is a Module scheme and marks are given as credits/grade points.

Internships Opportunities

The college interacts with companies to provide industrial training to the students of final and pre-final year. As a result some of the students have done their internships in some of the companies. The college also encourages Industrial tours every year.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placement scenario in our college is very good as compared to the neighboring colleges in our city, The percentage of the students who got placed are around 60-70% and most of the major companies like HP, DELL, FLIPKART, EBAY, PAYU etc; The average package is around 5-8 lakhs it lies between these two numbers at the end it all depends on the companies.

College Events

4

Every semester there will at least 2-3 workshops are conducted in every department. The college day happens in the month of March. Usually even semester will have the major of the events. Yantrix, Code-A-Thon, Game-A-thon are the few of the events which are conducted to explore technical skills of the students. Annual Sports meet is conducted in the month of February and the Annual day happens in the month of March.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The college fee is around 25000 excluding the University fee which will be around 54000 for the CBCS scheme. From the 2nd year onward, we need to pay an additional fee (if required), which will be considered as the department fee, and used for the conduction of the workshops and the training purposes. Apart from this, extra amounts are very rarely asked from you, if any particular event requires the contribution.

Fees and Financial Aid

It’s the college’s pride that, it receives the highest scholarship amount in the coastal region. The office staffs are responsible in notifying the available scholarships to the students. There are several students who are currently pursuing degree from their scholarship amounts without burdening themselves from any loans. The college yearly receives around 5 lakh as scholarship amount for the students.

Campus Life

4

In case of Extracurricular activities there are ample of opportunities in the college. The students have performed well in recent VTU fests, and other inter college fests. But sill the improvements can be expected. In case of sports, there are strong representatives in athletics , kabaddi and volleyball. The college has VTU record athletes in its athletic team.

Hostel Facilities

4

Students from far place may acquire the hostel facilities. Hostels for both boys and girls are built inside the college campus and they are well equipped. The hostels have no issues with power, water supply and maintenance. Vegetarian mess is provided in the hostels, which may be a factor of concern for the non-vegetarians. The food quality is reasonably ok. Hostels have strict rules and regulations regarding study hours, outsiders, Morning Prayer. Besides these factors, you’ll definitely going to enjoy the hostel life. The hostel fee is manageable as its annual room rent will be around Rs 20000/- and monthly mess Charges is Rs 3000/- including the maintenance charges.

Alumni/Alumna

The interaction with the Alumni is not really up to the mark. But the college has really tried with the few of the events, so that they can interact with the students. The college conducts workshops from the alumni, in terms of technical talks and career guidance programs.

Exam Structure

There will be 3 Internal Assessment as per the University guidelines, and additional assessment may be conducted if required only. Internal Assessment will be out of 40 and will be then converted into out of 25. Final IA marks are awarded considering the best two performances. Lab internals are conducted in the every succeeding week of the theory exams. Usually the lab IA will be divided into PART A, PART B, and final Lab internal and may change according to the situation.
