My college experience

We are not being educated in the college. Our faculty are simply translating the subject in our own language and making the students to get through the exams. There is no motivation, no encouragement and no education. The four years experience which I had with our college is one of the worse experience in my life.

I wrote EAMCET. As I am not eligible for fee reimbursement,I was not allowed for counselling and got the seat in NRI quota. There is no interview process. As the electronics has major contribution in every new invention, I choose this course(ECE).

The course was good. There is no focus on practical learning. No research initiatives taken by the institute. Our department aim is to have more pass percentage in academics. So they didn't want to take any research initiatives.

No internships. The students our college even don't the meaning of internship. We are forced to write unit tests rather than having internships.

All the interested students are equally trained for placements. Students from 65 and above are being placed. The average package was 3 lacs per annum.

The only event conducted by our college is VISVOTSAV. Our students are not so interested to participate in that event as it is not so enjoyable. The event continues for a day and it is not so big. Our college authorities are not interested to organise such an events and didn't encourage the students too.

It was affordable. Actual University fee was 35000 and we have to pay 5500 more as building fee. so, a total sum of 40500 have to be paid per year.

There is no opurtunity to explore our inner talents. Our college has physical trainees just to stand at the gate and verify whether the students are in formal dress code and wearing ID cards or not. No facilities to know our hidden talents.

I don't reside in hostel. Each room in the hostel is shared by 6 to 12 students based on the dimensions of the room. Food was not so good.

We are interested to do labs. The only problem is with the exams which are conducted after the completion of every unit. 4 to 6 questions are given from each unit and we are forced to score a cut off mark in the test. If we are failed to score the cutoff mark then we have to write those 6 questions 2 times and again retest, which is useless. All these things making us to feel irritated and making not to concentrate on our regular activities and future goals.

Over 30 percent of the faculty in our college are doing their post graduation evenly working as a faculty. Even the faculty who did their PG and P.hd are simply translating concepts from text book language to student understandable language. Some of them are interactive while some are not.
