One of the finest government college of Kanpur

The Institute has a well-stocked library consisting of about 12,000 books. Rest there is nothing bad that can be written about the college. My overall experience in the college was awesome.

There is no as entrance exam for this college, you just have to buy a form from the academic block of college for Rs.500 & then submit it back with a copy of your 12th mark sheet, then after which 3 merit lists are being declared & the students are selected on the basis of their performance in 12th board results. No there was no such interview process to get into the college, you get your name on the merit list & the doors are open for you to be a student of this college. Being a science student & due to the financial conditions of my family i did opt for this course & be a science graduate.

B.Sc is one of the finest course of this college, in this course you get to have more of practical experience than reading the text on the book, around 60% of the classes happen in our laboratories where we are taught practical workings & were asked to maintain a practical file for the same. There were following subject combinations available for the students out of which they can choose one group: 1. Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics 2.Botany, Zoology & Chemistry 3.Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry & Physics or Mathematics 4.Computer Application, Mathematics & Physics 5.Physical Education with any two subjects from Physics , Chemistry , Maths ,Zoology & Botany

No the college did not provide any internships as the course curriculum did not had a schedule for internship in all the 3 year course. There was a vacation of 2-3 months after final exams & before the commencement of next years classes so the students went to work with various BPO's & Sales targeted Companies, so that they could earn pocket money.

The placement of the college was good, almost 70% of the students sat for the placements & got placed, the rest of them didn't attended the placements drive as they wanted to go for a masters degree in the same domain they studied. Average package being offered was 1.75 lakhs & the highest that was offered to a student this year was 3 lakhs. Major companies that visited the campus were Tech mahindra, Saro Seeds etc.

Yes an annual fest took place every year which was organised & managed by the school committee. The students of other colleges weren't allowed to enter the college campus during the fest, around 1200 students out of all 1600 students do attend the fest .

The fee for this college is affordable, it is around 2300 for a year for a student of PCM & if you have physical education as an optional then the fee reduces to 1900 per year, total expense incurred for the B.Sc with PCM as the main subjects rounds off to 8000 Rs including the cost of examinations, practicals & additional notes.

Yes there is a scholarship for girls, and also for students belonging to OBC & SC categories. There are also scholarship prizes for meritorious students. No i did not avail a loan as the fees was very low & i was able to afford it on my own.

There were no hostels in the college campus, though a large number of PG's were available all around the area of the campus outside.

We had exam once a year & practicals followed in the next week. They were conducted at the end of each academic year so it was a chill pill sort of scenario in the college in terms of studies work load.

Teachers in this college have an experience of more than 20 years, they all are doctorates & have many research papers & books published by their names. They all are highly experienced & a lot helping if you contact them with a problem they provide you a solution for it within minutes, they are very interactive & friendly. we are taught on a black board where chalks are used to write, few classes have white boards & projectors installed in them.
