One of the best colleges. The zero percent attendance policy gives every student a chance to explore and work on his interests. We get a lot of time to know and understand self interest and nurture them to grow up properly. The overall development of the student is good. The life here overall is chill.
Entrance Preview
Bitsat is the entrance exam for all BITS campuses in India. I wanted to do Biology from an early age but couldn't pursue it completely. when I got to know that I was getting Bio in BITS I was more than happy to take it. There was no interview process which was formal. There was just an informal session which was of no consequence. I wanted to study in any of the good colleges in India and naturally, BITS was one of the options on my head. That's how I landed here.
Course Curriculum Overview
The Bio department is very good at BITS Hyderabad. There are a lot of projects and a lot of research going on every single day. The teachers are also professional and there are a lot of tie-ups with other institutes. We have international projects and students working on cutting-edge technology and there is exposure to everything happening in the world right now in the field. There are a good number of electives like recombinant DNA structures, Animal physiology etc. that give an immense depth to the subject along with the related labs that ensure necessary understanding of the subject.
Internships Opportunities
Everyone here gets an internship unless he/she is interested in the thesis program. The maximum stipend that can be offered gets into the range of 80-100k/ month and the least stipend that can be offered is around 8-10k/month. The average is around Rs. 15000 per month. This is a compulsory part of graduation.
Placement Experience
Campus placements are pretty good and the placement division which handles all the placement related things includes students also for the smooth process and the better coordination. 65-75% students get placed. The highest package is around 25 LPA, lowest is around 5.5 LPA and the average salary is around 8 LPA. Companies like Flipkart, Amazon, Qualcomm, and many finance and analytics companies also visited for recruitment. The roles which companies offered are coding profile, core, analyst, consultant, trader etc
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is a little exorbitant. The fee has tremendously increased since I joined this college. But there are other facilities like MCN and Student aid fund which can help you to an extent. The tuition fees has increased by around 50000 since we joined from 90000 to 130000.
Faculty
The faculty quality differs from branch to branch. Overall, it is good. The curriculum is up to the benchmark of what companies demand. Projects are offered and assignments have practical application. The course curriculum includes a thesis as well if you are interested. The faculty in BIO is helpful to a huge extent in making us understand the subject thoroughly.
