The best and most reputed government college in Tamilnadu.Both administrative and infrastrucure wise.Getting a seat in CEG, will the dream of almost many student passing out from school.

No entrance examination.+2 cut off marks are considered.separate counselling for this course.apllications are issued in anna university after 12th std results are out. can be downloaded from website.I had a low score in 12th hence opted for this course, for the reputation of anna univ chennai.

The curriculum is almost the same as BE(Information Technology), the only difference is the course duration of 5 years.Course included 2 completed 6 month internship to be done in an organization outside the college.Key subjects include basic IT papers like java, oops, OS, distributed computing, 8 maths papers, probability, few ECE and EEE subjects.

Internship was the best part of the course which gave good exposure to the corporate world even before we had the complete placement.Students were recruited by reputed companies like morgan stanley, CTS, caterpillar, TCS, INTEL.stipend varied from 9k to 32k.

Out of the class strength of 54 - 49 were placed.Key companies that provided the offers were Accenture, Wipro, Renault Nissan, IBM, Intel, Caterpillar, CTS, Symantec.Few students who did intership were converted to employees.The CTC varied from 3.33 - 7 p.aAccenture - 3.33IBM- 3.6Wipro- 3.8Intel -4.5Caterpillar- 4.2Symantec - 4

Technical Events : Kurukshetra, Cursor, Niral, Indcon and many more ( around 18 events conducted by each and every department in college)Main event : Kurukshetra : conducted by the students of the whole college. Symposium happens for 4 days and more than 30 events.Cultural events : Kalakrithi, TechofesBoth events are big and conducted for 2 days, familiar among all engg colleges in tamilnadu.

Feasible but expensive for a government college. Fees for the other coursed in the college is around 8k pa. The course is private finance aided.20k for each sem so 40k for an year + Exam fees of 6k.Hostel fees would be around 25k per annum(room fees and mess).

Since the course is private aided we couldnt avail the general students educational scholarship provided by the government.2 Toppers from the class will get scholarship from a soceity.Loans can be availed from the Banks inside the college (SBI, Canara, Indian) without providing any surety.

This is a place for self-motivated people.There are lots of facilities that can be availed apart from academics : swimming pool, tennis, all indoor and outdoor sports, library, robotics club, computer society, students welfare society, scouts, NCC, NSS.The extra curricular is made compulsory for the first year students.There are many symposiums, technical, cultural events conducted from different departments of the college.

Hostel facilities are not good. A small room will have to be shared by 2 students. Final year students can opt to get a single room.No warden, so you are free to go out and come to the room. Hostel never closes.(you can come to the hostel at any time)Mess

Alumus network is the greated + point of our college.We were able to connect with our seniors for both job opportunities and higher studies and even for fund raising for any event held in the college.Alumni meetings are held frequently to keep up the momentum going.

Very well structure exam. We had enough time for preparation.Internal exams for every 1.5 month(3 internals).Labs (3 internals each at 1.5 month interval gap).

Reputed faculties having good experience will handle the classes.For few subjects it was handled by research scholars.Faculties were very knowledgable.
