It was my ambition since highschool studies.. And for that i worked hard and repeat 3 times to gain admission in the prestigious college in Asia.. Government medical college calicut. Facultys are comparatively less.. Comsidering the students strength of 250

Internships Opportunities

After completing the course we can do internship from our college itself.. After completing under graduation.. For PG Admission we need to clear NEET PG...and the admission is carrried out.. As interns, they has greater responsibilities and they are burdened by heavy works and overtime duties without week end offs and vacation.. Which can adveraly affect thier mental state and well being

Fees and Financial Aid

Per annum the course fee is 27580/-.with miscellaneous fee of 3000/- during admission there was a additional pta fund of 15000/- rupees.. For studies books and requires items per year can cost upto 15000/- Government aided scholarships are available

Campus Life

Campus life is very fruitfull with a peacefull atmosphere.. All faculties are very helpfull.. Several fests are held at our college as culturals.. Medical related meets.. Sports meets.. We have a central library.. Which is freely accessible to students and learnning and resources centre where we can freely browse and study online.. Class rooms are very spacious and awsome

Admission

For MBBS admission.. Its required to clear NEET ug examination.. The cut off varies from year to year.. The qualifying percentile is 50.and u should opt biology science with more than 75 % in physics chemistry biology and english NEET UG is an all india examination.. Online registration with registration fee.. Reservation is there sc st avail maximum.. And general category has no reservation

Course Curriculum Overview:

It's always relevant to the content being taught by the teachers. They always use application based questions to prepare us for a real life situation as well. First aid training was also completed. Some of the teachers are very interactive while some not. Short exams are conducted on a weekly basis while internal exams are conducted every 2/3 months. Not that difficult but it isn't that easy either. Very strict checking, nothing is liberal.

The course is a pretty hard one i must say but the feeling of putting on a white coat and looking after patients is surreal and that's the main essence of the job. The curriculum is very vast but each subject is important in its own way. The exams are all conducted in such a way that there's enough time for us to prepare .

Calicut Medical College - an ideal place to learn and grow as a doctor

I got admission on state quota (general category) after giving the NEET exam in 2019. I scored 646/ 720 and had an AIR rank of 1039 and state rank of 131. The overall application process was easy and all the necessary forms were given in the college itself. The admission dates were informed in the state website of Kerala, which can be found after filling the application for state quota. Application fees was paid in the college treasury itself.
