Well the clinical experience obtained from wards is of great value
There is no much political influence in the campus
Professors are highly cooperative and mentorship really helpful

Dislikes

Well the academic schedule is quiet hectic and life balance
Well the college is not near to city, also good hotels
Well students from other states would find it hard to learn the Malayalam

Of course , a profession like doctor earns you both respect and decent amount of salary. A mentor is provided for about 15 students each in all subjects. Usually three average exams are conducted in a year followed by university exam

Class Size: 250Course Fees: INR 26000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fees amount to 26000 , plus miscellaneous. Yearly hostel fees is just around 7000.Daily mess rate around 100 Rs. National scholarship for minorities through NSP portal and egrantz by state government is provided.

Campus Life

College union fest is the annual fest conducted around may. Interzone arts and sports fest is participated by medical college all around the state. Library with AC and wifi is available. Classroom are occupied with projectors and well equipped practical labs. College is occupied with it's own stadium both indoor and outdoor activities. Medicine food awareness classes are run by students.

Admission

Well MBBS as all know is admitted based on the rank you get in the NEET exam, highly competitive exam. Anyone who have graduated plus two can write the exam. Application details is provided by the NTA.

Even though a bit tight and rushy, this is in fact the best curriculum provided and followed by all medical colleges in kerala. The frequency of exam is high and difficulty level is as same as that of KUHS. This provides relevant experience for the students to weite the university exams

Course Curriculum Overview:

It's always relevant to the content being taught by the teachers. They always use application based questions to prepare us for a real life situation as well. First aid training was also completed. Some of the teachers are very interactive while some not. Short exams are conducted on a weekly basis while internal exams are conducted every 2/3 months. Not that difficult but it isn't that easy either. Very strict checking, nothing is liberal.

Great for academics

The course is a pretty hard one i must say but the feeling of putting on a white coat and looking after patients is surreal and that's the main essence of the job. The curriculum is very vast but each subject is important in its own way. The exams are all conducted in such a way that there's enough time for us to prepare .

Calicut Medical College - an ideal place to learn and grow as a doctor

I got admission on state quota (general category) after giving the NEET exam in 2019. I scored 646/ 720 and had an AIR rank of 1039 and state rank of 131. The overall application process was easy and all the necessary forms were given in the college itself. The admission dates were informed in the state website of Kerala, which can be found after filling the application for state quota. Application fees was paid in the college treasury itself.
