Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because it was my long-lived wish to become a doctor. Faculty-student ratio is about 1:20 Faculties are MBBS MDs and are specialized doctors. The teaching method is basically PPT-based lectures. Termly exams were once in 2 months

Internships Opportunities

Intership is basically house surgency where we will be posted in various departments under doctors and PG andd will be assisting them in treating patients in the hospital do that we can get a clinical practice before we graduate.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are about 25000 per year excluding other fees Other fees include library fees, hostel fees, miscellaneous fees, exam fees, and so on. The mess bill is on a monthly basis and is almost 2.5k a month. I don't have any kind of scholarship or stipend

There is Fresher's day for the fresh batch, graduation day for house surgeons, and about 7 programs every year. There is intermedicos, northzone, and interzone arts and sports fest. There are a lot of books and magazines available at the library The latest edition can be availed There is smart board in classrooms They are gallery classrooms WINCA is a club for women wellbeing

Hostel Facilities

We have a flat in Senior resident quarters fir 6 people which comprise of a hall, 2 bedrooms, a dining hall, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a balcony Meal quality is moderate. We have kerala based meals in afternoon, mainly non veg

Hostel Fee: INR 7200 per year

Admission

The course is eligible by securing a good rank in NEET. AIR 3000 is needed Application form and fee structure and Application dates are notified on the NMC website and also on the CEE Kerala website. I didn't opt for any reservation because I was in the general category. The admission process was very haphazardly carried out

Course Curriculum Overview:

It's always relevant to the content being taught by the teachers. They always use application based questions to prepare us for a real life situation as well. First aid training was also completed. Some of the teachers are very interactive while some not. Short exams are conducted on a weekly basis while internal exams are conducted every 2/3 months. Not that difficult but it isn't that easy either. Very strict checking, nothing is liberal.

The course is a pretty hard one i must say but the feeling of putting on a white coat and looking after patients is surreal and that's the main essence of the job. The curriculum is very vast but each subject is important in its own way. The exams are all conducted in such a way that there's enough time for us to prepare .

Calicut Medical College - an ideal place to learn and grow as a doctor

I got admission on state quota (general category) after giving the NEET exam in 2019. I scored 646/ 720 and had an AIR rank of 1039 and state rank of 131. The overall application process was easy and all the necessary forms were given in the college itself. The admission dates were informed in the state website of Kerala, which can be found after filling the application for state quota. Application fees was paid in the college treasury itself.
