Guide to Bsc in AMU

My main reason for choosing Bsc in chemistry was because Chemistry is my favourite subject and I always wanted to become a professor so for that Bsc is a perfect course. The faculty members of my department are also very qualified and are very cooperative. Students as well as faculty members all are from different parts of India. The semester exams are also held regularly and one should have a good preparation and knowledge of the subject to pass the exam.

Internship opportunities are quite limited for BSC students in AMU. Companies like IFFCO, ChemBizr, Lancesoft, etc. provide job as well as internship opportunities. Usually lab works and questions solving tasks are given in the internships and certificates along with some additional perks are provided to the students.

Students of the final year are eligible for campus placements. Well known companies visit our campus for placement purposes like Wipro, Amazon, Havells, etc. All the placement opportunities are provided by TPO of AMU to the students. Around 70% students get placements from the campus every year. My plan after pursuing bsc is to get admission in MSC and then PhD as I want to become a Professor.

AMU is one the cheapest places to study in India with annual college fees of 4000/- approx. only and if you opt for hostel then it will be 6000/- approx. . There are also various government scholarships available which you can avail and there is a scholarship provided by AMU itself for economically weaker students.

The annual fest is held by different departments during different times which start from the month of February and goes on till March. AMU also have the worldwide famous Maulana Azad Library which has a great collection of books. All sports are available in the AMU campus including outdoor games like cricket, football and also indoor games like badminton, table tennis etc. Cultural education centre is also set up in AMU for extra curricular activities where students can engage in music, singing, debating, drama, etc. There are many social groups and clubs run by students, one such is AMU Journal where all the updates regarding the AMU campus are given.

The admission process was quite easy for the course. I had to give an entrance exam which was organised by AMU. The average cutoff for clearing the exam was 50 marks out of 100. You can apply for the admission test by submitting the form available on the website of AMU. The elegiblity to give the AMU Bsc exam is that you should be 12th pass with first division. The entrance test is usually taken in the month of April. The only improvement which I would want to see in the admission process of AMU Bsc examination is the condition of exam centres.
