Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because it holds so much scope for the future. The world is shifting towards AI and computers. The students are about 60-90. The teachers are good and mostly available in times of need. The teachers are mostly very senior and many of them have studied from AMU itself. The exams are always on time, if not then delayed by a week or so. If you are present in your classes, the exams aren't tough to pass
Internships Opportunities
The companies dont specifically come and offer internship. But yes a lot of the time many people who have paid internship to offer have participated in various events to promote their internships. But again these are very affordable. We have whatsapp groups that inform us of the new internships. Certificates from Companies like google, microsoft, wipro are included too.
Placement Experience
Usually in the final year, placements take place. The placement isn't very good in AMU. Maybe 1-2 students get placements in big companies like the microsoft. The package could range from 6lac-12lac per annum. Probably 10-25 percent students get the placement. Many of them prepare for GATE. I too will do the same.
Fees and Financial Aid
My branch is a specialization of computers, i.e, Artifical Intelligence. Its a new course so the fees is quiet high. A regular student who has been admitted to the university by the entrance test has to give about 51,000 yearly whereas those who have come through the NRI quota have to pay nearly 4 lac yearly.
Campus Life
There are several clubs within the campus that deal with different fields. Our college is Zakir Husain and the fest that is conducted yearly usually in March is Zarf. The fest allows us to explore more than what our actual field offers. The clubs allow you to explore your branch as well as the branch you want to know more about. Books regarding all courses are provided within the library. During the fest, many sports activities are held in various halls. Clubs such as codechef, gdsc, and amuroboclub are some of the successful clubs within the college campus.
Hostel Facilities
The rooms of the hostel of the girls in engineering are huge. The new building, which is also called the dormitory has 16 rooms in which 5 students are accomodated. Everyone has their own cupboards and study table. We have our own tubelights and ofcourse a bed. The quality of the meal provided is only alright. We get non veg 4 times a week and veg is also provided for those who dont eat non veg. We have to pay a monthly 1500; 1400 for the hostel facilities and the mess and 100 for the laundry which comes every friday.
Admission
We had to fill out the application form which came out 1-2 months prior the exam. The date of the examination was released along with it. The syllabus had to be prepared which was the course of 11-12th CBSE. The application form is found on AMU's official website. Reservation is for the lower caste students and for those who come with sports quota. Children of Alumni or those who work in the university.
