Remarks

Overall it is a very good college when it comes to enjoyment, social life, freedom, as well as some studies. Being in the heart of the city, you get access to various multiplexes, malls, and other leisure places. The Phoenix Mall is located just opposite to the campus. You can enjoy some movies or a date too bunking college. XD

Entrance Preview

No entrance exams are required to be written to get admitted into Guru Nanak College. Just your Grade 12 marks are enough. A small interview maybe conducted before admitting students.

Course Curriculum Overview

The college is affiliated to the University of Madras and has been granted full Autonomy by the same University this year (2017-18). The curriculum is revised based upon the current trends periodically. Practicals are alotted 50% of the total marks. The written exam is conducted for 100 marks and is converted to 50 later. There are various elective courses offered by the college where interested students can apply to it for a nominal cost and learn the subject.

Internships Opportunities

There are no specific duration in the course where on has to intern at someplace. Students can of course pursue internships on their own.

Placement Experience

Placements happen in the college. Not all the students are placed right after finishing their course. Approximately 60% of the students get placed every year. You can expect many major companies to visit the campus. Amazon, TCS are some of the examples.

College Events

As the college has a huge number of student community studying there, a lot of Technical, Cultural and Managerial fests happen almost every week in a calendar year. Many famous industrialists and entrepreneurs are invited to host various events in the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very affordable. That's the reason why you can see students from all communities flock together at the Guru Nanak College. There are two shifts. The morning shift fee structure is lesser when compared to the evening shift. The morning shift fee is approximately around ₹10,000 a year. The evening shift fee is approximately around ₹30,000 a year.

The college does provide scholarships to the underpriviliged students and meritorius students.

Campus Life

The college supports extra-curricular activities completely. The most famous sport in the college is Cricket. Guru Nanak Cricket Team is one of the very best cricket teams in the state. The college also has a quality cricket ground where Ist Division Cricket matches, Ranji Trophy Cricket matches, International friendlies take place regularly.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel facility is only available to boys right now. The hostel is located inside the lush green campus. No PG's are available inside the campus. But, as the college is situated in the heart of the city, there are various PG's available near the college campus.

Exam Structure

The exams and labs are not hectic. It is a college where you can enjoy a lot without being burdened with a lot of exams or lab sessions.

Faculty

The quality of teachers are quite good but not excellent. They are very interactive though, where students can ask any doubt related to the subject without any hesitation or fear. The staffs are very friendly. Most of them can converse in good English.

Placement Experience:

The placement process begins from the third year i.e. the fifth and sixth sem. But be warned the placement is pure dabba. The companies that visited are goldman sachs, pick your trail, venture lts, greenbay, taj, audible, TCS, etc. the package varies from 3.4 LPA to 12 LPA. These are just peanut money btw. The college says there's 100% placements ( joke of the century) but in reality only 70% gets placed. I plan to do MBA from a different college.
