Know about my college

College is good in terms of studies and placement but not much of college life. You will find a lot of nerd lads but ultimately you will land up somewhere in good ground in career. Overall the college is good for personality development too.

I wrote Comed-K exam in which I scored 110 marks and secured 5076 rank and got Computer Science in extended 2nd round counselling. Admission procedure was quite easy which got completed in 1 day only with a short interview along with one parent. Also CSE branch has got best placements but the mechanical and civil department of college is also very highly reputed.

College is quite focused over studies and practical learning. Fun and games might be a minus point but in terms of placement activities, this is one the best options in Karnataka you can get. Mechanical and Civil departments have some research initiatives under them such as TEQIP.

College itself doesn't directly get you into an internship position but you can yourself apply for internship after 2nd yr. Avg stipend is around 10-20K

CS branch has the best placements. Last year's highest was 28.5 lakh PA from CS. Though almost every gets placed in some or other core companies. Moto, Microsoft, Eicher were some big recruiters. Avg package was around 4-5 lakhs.

Only one major college fest happens here called TechNIEkes. Compared to other colleges,it is quite big. College authorities contribute in the fest.

It's very much affordable for CET students but a little expensive for ComedK students. It costs around 1,70,000 for ComedK students excluding the hostel fees per annum. For CET students, it's around Rs 40,000 p.a

Scholarships are provided after every year according to the subjects and branch in which you have scored good. Education loan is also an option and the college coordinates in this.

Extra curricular activities are not much prevalent in this college. Main focus is always on studies. Though sports tournaments in college level takes place regularly. Indoor sports complex is also available for Basketball, Table Tennis and Badminton.

Yes, I am residing in hostel. For 1st year students, there is 3 sharing rooms available only. Only from 2nd year, 2 sharing rooms are available. Many PGs are also available nearby the college. Hostel costs 65K per year but in 1st year, you need to pay 10K more which gets refunded when you leave the hostel. If you are a south Indian, food will seem okay to you but for north Indian, it becomes a bit difficult to adjust to south Indian food habits coz you are served rice all three times, though chapati is also served in dinner, in in some days, in lunch also. Sunday lunch is special.

Alumni network of college is quite strong. Founder and CEO of Infosys, Mr. NR Narayanmurthy one of the eminent alumni of the college. The fund for the main ECE building of college was donated by him only to the college.

Though you need not study day and night for exams, but we have 3 internals of in which each subject is of 25 marks. Exam schedule is quite tiring as we need to give 3 internals and 1 Semester end exam in just a span of 5 months. Though studying regularly evenly makes it easier.

Faculty is quite experienced and qualified. Especially in Mechanical and Civil department, most of the professors have post graduation from IITs and IISc. Teachers are interactive and standard of teaching is okay according to standards of other colleges.
