Course Curriculum Overview

I study B.Sc Geography Hons and the main motivational factor behind choosing this subject was my passion for it. Personally I really like my Department and Faculty members....We have 7 faculty members currently....the exams are conducted by our University Of Calcutta and it is really really tough to get a decent amount of SGPA in this University

Internships Opportunities

Various internship opportunities are done by college, workshops and seminars are done quite regularly and recently our department organised a Seminar for Rediscovering Kolkata's Lost Heritage as a Metropolitan

Fees and Financial Aid

Cost of study is very low and there is a great ROI....also students from a lower income household can apply for Swami Vivekananda scholarship to cover their college expenses. Also internships, Workshops and seminars are regularly arranged by various departments

Campus Life

We have a yearly fest called Prayas which happens every year around January. They invite renowned celebrities all around India for the fest. Also Campus life is great. Books of all kinds of departments are always available. Annual sports are arranged every year. Also there is a club called Prochesta for students trying to do anything besides their academic life

Admission

Just go to the college website for admission purposes, for honours subject you have to provide your 12th marksheet of your respective board and then wait for the merit list to publish....Mostly in Science streams the cutoff remains high around 85-90%

Good academics with limited internship opportunities

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is relevant and well structure. It includes theory an practical subject which help in building strong basics it is useful for higher studies and future career . The primary decision was to contribute to the society like the great scientists who have done so before. The curriculum provides a balanced approach of both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, theoretical knowledge from classes, assignments, homeworks and exams. Practical knowledge through the different workshops that are held in the college auditorium or online with successful men of the field who are brought as guests in them, from renowned scientists to great thinkers we have met a lot of them.

Placement Experience:

After completing the 5th Semester the student are eligible for placement but the student should have 7.5 CGPA and a good attendence for the palcement after this oncampus placement like TCS, wipro, accenture etc come for placement with a native package of around 6-8 LPA. Which is goood . Nearly as per report around 80% of studentt gets placed every year . After i complete this course i have decide to go master degree in data science which will be benificial for me for international company.

Pros and cons

Placement Experience:

Placement or internship depends on the course Duration . Overall placement is good . The highest package is 1cr/ yr. And the average package 2to3 lakh/ yr. After getting the bsc. degree in Forensic science, I want to prepare for compitive exam or prepare for higher studies.

How an average student sees his College

Remarks:

Pros:The teachers very very helpful and friendly. Loans and scholarships available. Faculties are highly qualified. Infrastructure is awesome. Cons: no placement. No stipends There wasn’t any hostel facility. Canteen could be developed.
