Course Curriculum Overview

I had eco-stat stream in 12th and I liked the Economics subject very much that's why I choose this course. The professors are very interactive and friendly and don't at all put on students. The proffessors are highly qualified

Class Size: 50Course Fees: INR 9600 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is very minimal.It is 4000 all total per month with 800 course fees and 3200 hostel fees.There has been no hike in the fees over the last 3 years I get Vivekananda Scholarship for my Higher Secondary results

Campus Life

There is no such specific fest for our college but every department has it's own fest.Our being Conjecture of Economics department.The campus provides exquisite sports facilities for example football, cricket, table tennis etc.

Hostel Facilities

The room is square with 4 windows and 4 beds.The mess is good but provides very low quality foods. The hostel registration process is very easy and is given clearly in college website.The locality is very good and eco-friendly.

Hostel Fee: INR 38400 per year

Admission

An admission test is taken after 12th boards on Mathematics and English.Every detail is present in college website.The admission test is a bit hard but will be of ease if practised well.The eligibility criteria is 85% in boards

For placement and internship we have CCD ( Career development center ) and it ensure that students are getting all the opportunities for interview with top companies like Microsoft, google, Goldman Sache amazon and so on. students can apply for internship in 5th semester and can sit for placement in their 8th semester, other than campus placement students can apply anywhere for off campus placement if they are meeting thier crieteria.

Placement Experience:

I choose my course that chemistry because of the fact that I had got the rank that came under it and another reason is chemistry department is quite old here even if kanpur chemistry department is better for core, you will get chance for non core too here. Courses now deal more on chemistry related stuff. No need for course improvement Frequency is near end and mid sem there will be exams mode

Life at IIT KGP

Placement Experience:

The placement is good in IIT KGP in comparison to other colleges. People are eligible to sit for placements in their fourth year can sit for placements through CDC. The placements are held in two phases. In session 24-25, we have seen 1000+ offers to students in first phase. After getting degree, I would also go for doing job.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course for the first year is easy overall , maybe challenging for biology students because involvement of Maths in the curriculum but they can decrease their load by practicing Maths problems, asking doubts, approaching the instructors or their personal mentors. Otherwise the course is mixed in a good way with theoretical and practical part. Labs are conducted of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and CS in first year. You can choose CS as an minor in higher classes.

Placement Experience:

It's a research Institute so no one really thinks about placements but still there's a placement cell in college and it tries it's best get as many company as they can... Placements are decent in chemistry maths and biology

IIT KHARGPUR- WORTH IT?

Placement Experience:

from 7th semester (for btech students), 9th semester (for dual degree students) students are eligible for campus placements. there are numerous companies which visit the campus...and generally nearly all students get placed during the placement season, but recently there has been recession and companies are not taking less number of the students than they usually do.

Statistics Honours at Ramakrishna Mission Residential College(Autonomous)

There a certain criteria to get admission to this college. 1)You must have a certain cut-off mark in your board exam(HS). If you have then you are eligible for the entrance test. 2) After clearing the test you will be qualified for admission here. Within a few months(2 or 3) after the board exam, the online form filled up for the admission test starts on the college's website. You just have to visit a few times on the college website after the board exam for admission details and exam dates. Application fees( per subject) : 500/- You can take exams on different subjects if you want. The admission process is done only through the college website and there's no offline process for application. These are the negative points here which should be improved.
