I chose Zoology as my subject because I am very much interested in learning living organisms. The departments have there own respective buildings and teachers. Around 9 faculties per department. Faculties are highly qualified in their respective fields and knowledgeable. Almost all faculties are Ph.D holders and there are around 9 to 10 faculties per department. All the departments of science stream have their own respective laboratory for practical. Our Zoology department has a wonderful Museum for study of specimens of organisms. The teaching quality is good, according to me. The examinations are also very strict. All the faculties try to make the class more engaging and interesting. There is regular seminars are conducted for extra knowledge of students.

The college is very affordable to all. The fees for general courses are very low compared to other universities and colleges. The admission fees for science stream is around ?2,250 for arts it is ?1,950. The readmission fees is ?670. But for professional courses the fees are very similar with other universities. The state government provides a Post Matric Scholarship for all graduation students. The amount is ?12,000 for hosteller and ?7,000 for day-scholars.

The campus life at Ravenshaw is very good. There is no ragging at all. The total strength of our college is about 5000 but there is not much crowd in the campus. Our college has many clubs like literary club, music club, drama club, etc. The college organises many educational as well as cultural programmes on a regular basis, which is very much exciting and interesting. The individual hostel organises its own annual functions and many fests. It is around the month of November- December. But due to exams it can be postponed to January or February. There is a big library in the campus which has all kinds of books. The classrooms have smart screens. The sports area is also very scopeful.

Our college has hostel facilities for both girls and boys. Girls hostel are highly secured. The hostel infrastructure is good, equipped with all kind of facilities like canteen, TV room, and study room. The food is also average and mess bill is also below ?2000 per month. The room is ideal for 4 students. It has chair and study table for all students, one almirah and a clothes stand. The hostel organise its own annual function, competitions, etc. After the publication of merit list for admission, the college announces the merit for hostels. The hostel registration is very simple and easy. The overall hostel admission cost is around ?8,000. All the payment are done through online mode only.

The admission process is very lengthy. There is no entrance exam for admission. The admission is based on purely on the basis of merit, which has to apply through the state government portal called SAMS Odisha website. All the admission details are available at SAMS Odisha website. The cut-off marks for science stream is very high, like the cut-off for Zoology previous year 1st selection was around 94% (General). But in arts stream the cut-offs are low and also for ST students.
