If you want to join Chemical Engineering, you can surely consider RGIPT

I chose this course because the research facilities available for undergraduates at RGIPT is commendable and if you look at the placement opportunities in the Chemical and Petroleum Engineering departments they are also way too good as compared to newer IIT's. Student to faculty ratio is 1:15 approx. Faculty in the Chemical and Petroleum departments have their PHD's from USA, IIT's, South Korea and many more countries. You are going to enjoy you learning but the course is a bit hectic. There are mid sems, end sems and quizes. You appear in these exams and your GPA is calculated on its basis.

In Chemical Engineering we get internship opportunities at Mercedes Benz, PSU's, private Chemical Engineering companies and Petroleum Engineering grads also get a good choice for internships but the scenario is completely different for CSE and other branches

Chemical and Petroleum Engineering grads tend to lead the placements. We've got GAIL, IOCL, HPCL, BPCL, HMEL, JSW, Nayara, Indorama and the list goes on. In Chemical 95% get placed. Petroleum engineering grads tend to get placed at ONGC,OIL,Shell,Halliburton (off campus) and more. CSE and branches are suffering due to placements. We get to hear that Electronics branch is going to get a good placement.

The fees is a bit high at RGIPT. There are financial assistance programs such as McM or Merit cum means scholarship offered by the institution which you can avail on your family income and GPA. State government scholarships and Reliance Scholarships are availed by majority of the students at our institution. You also get earn by becoming a TA (Teaching Assistant) in your third and fourth year if you have got the highest grade in that particular course.

Life at campus is a bit depressing. We've got a small campus where in the initial days you get to explore but after a few months you start getting bored. RGIPT organizes Kaltarang and Urjotsav, our Cultural and Tech Fest annually. Books and journals are available in the library. Sports facilities are a drawback here as we do not have a proper ground but we have got majorly all indoor games, badminton, tennis and basketball courts. The best part of RGIPT is the Arpan and Gyanarpan where we get to volunteer and teach the underprivileged of the society.

You get the best Hostel you can imagine. One fault at your room and you register a complaint, the action is taken the very next day. We get a bed, study table with a white board, shoe rack, an almirah and a chair. Meals provided here are better as expected at hostels. We have an on campus hostel accommodation facility.

JEE MAINS + JEE ADVANCE. Application forms are available at nta.nic.in and you can apply for JEE Mains. Appear for the exam and clear your JEE Mains and then fill the form available for JEE Advanced. Clear your JEE Advanced. Then apply for counselling at the official website og RGIPT. Participate in the counselling and if your profile is accepted you will get your admission confirmation at RGIPT through an official mail accompanied by a welcome mail.
