Course Curriculum Overview

3

I chose this course as I was pursuing CA and it would be helpful for building an overall foundation related to my subject and for the professional course and I would be having a better knowledge. And the faculty members are all well qualified and also goes through various monthly training programmes conduct by our college, but the teaching style for most of the teachers is vary traditional and as the syllabus is very huge their teaching style is very ineffective and teachers fails to make you understand about the concept and they are just bothered about finishing the syllabus just by dictating the slides for you or by explaing you a very brief concept the subject. The entire semester is of 4 months and within months you'll be having CIA(mid sem) the difficulty is average but it covers maximum of the chapters for every subject and Final Semester exams are conducted within 1.5 months and the difficulty is really high and you need to study really hard for this exams.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

There are many companies that provide paid internships and can't specify any such company but there are no. Of companies that comes with such offer or may give you only internship opportunity for LOR or experience with certificate.

Placement Experience

3

Placements in our college is average and if you are pursuing any professional course you've a Usp and for students only purusuing the course won't get high package or else many of the students opt for off campus Placements. You'll be eligible in Semester 5 for Campus Placements. Companies like Delloite, PWC, KPMG, D.E. SHAW, BYJUS and many more companies visit and few the companies also have certain conditions like your past performance, SGPA, Arrear, etc. Highest package was 13.5 LPA and average can be 3-5 LPA And around 30% of the students get Placements. And I'm planning to pursue my professional course(CA).

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees is really high for any of the courses, for the first semester we had around 50k+ and in second semester we had 60k+ and when you'll be in 2nd Year your fees will hike from 15k-20k(for every sem i.e. 3&4) as you'll be having practical subjects too and you'll be charged extra for lab fees and in final year the fees is again high or equivalent to the 2nd yrs fee and it depends about the subjects you have selected and you also have to pay extra for selecting few subjects in the final year. And college provides few scholarships for underprivileged students and for girls which you need to contact the office and for B.Com Moring your fees is very low as compared to the evening section as government subsidies are provided. And you need to check the placement cell website for paid internships provided by the college.

Campus Life

2

Campus life is not that much cool or amazing, as you'll be mostly engaged in studies as attendance is an important criteria. And then we have annual fest Xavotsav and then many societies are there, you can join and can gain experience, exposure and knowledge of many new things and be a part of their events. Students have access to the central library and their is huge availability of books and journals and also past papers. Students can take part in various sports activities conducted twice a year and then their are various inter department tournaments for cricket, football and basketball. Societies like XADAM, XCS, XFS, XMS, EDC and Sudent Council and many more are their and Students can be a part of this Societies.

Admission

Firstly you need to visit the website (sxccal) and from their you need to fill the form (you will get a quick link for the form) and pay around 500-1000 for the form and then you need to wait for the list and if it's there you may proceed with the registration process.

This college's reputation is not good and overall faculty and placements wasn't good enough.

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the course the b.com because I want to become the CA but after completing the graduation my family condition was not very good so I quit my studies and searching for the job. My dream was after B.com then I complete M.com then CA but I couldn't do that. I'm pursuing because I'm interested in understanding how businesses work and want a solid foundation in commerce and finance. It opens up various career paths in accounting, finance, management, and more. Plus, it's a versatile degree that can lead to professional certifications like CA, CS, or MBA.
