Likes
- Almost everything- the campus life is amazing placement is available in the engineering section. Infrastructure is alsoo great more or less.
- Various clubs are there and they are very active. There are so many events that take take place. The campus is huge.
- JU is known for letting people express themselves. You'll see the whole campus flooded with wall paintings, you'll often hear the beautiful sound of a flute coming, people practicing dance at gandhi bhavan...in short it's a magical experience.
Dislikes
- Political reasons lead to a lot of problems in the campus. That's the only thing I dislike about it.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose the subject as I was interested in learning history. The faculty members are all eminent scholars and hold PHD.degree and the quality of teaching is great. Every sem has various number of papers. For each core paper you have 2 internals of 10marks each and 30marks for sem. Questions are neither too easy nor too difficult to answer. Sometimes they are difficult to be honest, but if you study well then I dont think it would be difficult to pass. 80% of the class have pass marks in the exams.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees in JU is surprisingly less. Only 1245 rs is taken for the 1st yr. 950rs for 2nd yr. Semester fees is just 44rs. It has a lot of financial assistance for helping students facing financial problems. Many people coming from weaker financial background studies here and the college do provide scholarships and hostel facilities for the students facing financial issues.
Campus Life
JU is known for it's cultural clubs. Drama, debate, dance, music, you got everything here. Also there are mountaineering clubs as well. The university also engages in sports activities. Campus life is a bliss here in terms of cultural activities and fests.
Admission
Application form is available on the website online prior to the entrance. Entrance exams are held for all departments. It has become compulsory now. At our time, as it was just after covid, our department did not take entrance exam, it was just based on our boards percentage.No application fee was taken. No reservation benefit was taken by me.
