Course Curriculum Overview
Electrical was always my branch of interest and hence the course, the ece curriculum here is pretty well defined. Faculty mostly are PhDs. About term exams we have midsems and endsems. It's pretty easy to pass but the fail ratio is pretty high. Even if you get a F grade you get another chance to write a makeup exam.
Internships Opportunities
The internship opportunities provided here are pretty versatile and good. You can get PPOs in 3rd year. Microsoft provides an internship offer including lot of other companies. Haven't yet done a internship yet, not qualified for answering much
Placement Experience
Students are eligible to sit for internship or placement interviews by 3rd year. The companies which offered placements could be found on manipal's official website. The avg package last year was around 56 lakhs and avg is 12lakhs. The percentage of students placed (including PPOs) is around 85-90%.
Fees and Financial Aid
since its a private university it's pretty expensive, the tution fee in around 16lakhs approx for 4 years (for circuital branches), the hostel fees depends on the kind of hostel you take. Your approx fees including food hostel and tution would be around 22lakhs for 4 years. If your family income is below 8lakhs you get to write a different exam and scholarship based on that
Campus Life
Campus life in mit is pretty good. There are 2 major fests, revels, cultural fest , organised in month of February and tecttatva, the technical fest ,organised in October. Campus has various student projects, clubs and start ups , all managed by students. The life is pretty happening and cool here if you choose it to be that way
Hostel Facilities
The hostel system here has different tiers of room, we have trip sharing common washroom, double sharing and single rooms with AC and non AC options, the hostel fee is different for all ranging from 1-2lakhs. We have various food courts and messes among which students can choose from, the food is edible and pretty good surprisingly.
Admission
Eligiblity is 12th pass with atleast 60%, I gave MET entrance test and got through it, cutoff for ece is somewhere near 8k rank. The application form is released in January (few days before jee exam). There is no reservation benifits
