Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because I wanted to persuade it. The faculty teach well and are friendly except a few. The student ratio in classes has a huge difference. Girls are very few as compared to boys. The exams are very tough and they are very strict and it is hard to score.

A lot companies take part in the placements. Companies like Facebook, google, etc take students. The salary package is pretty good and job is secure until we want to leave the company. Again I am not sure abt it completely because I am in 1st year now?!

From the seventh semester students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like google, Facebook,etc take part in the placements. Almost all students get placed. My plans after the degree is to work for a while and maybe do masters.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees vary for different courses. The fees increases every year. It is pretty expensive compared to other engineering colleges. There are no such of scholarship programs as far as I know. We can get placed into very good companies.

Campus Life

There are a lot of fests and it is pretty fun to take part in them. The library provides aspl the books related to the courses and other books. MIT is the best place for extracurricular activities. Taking part in these can be written in the resume which helps us get places in really good companies.

Hostel Facilities

There are a lot of blocks. Out of which the one U an staying is the best. Block 22 is AC with double sharing and attached bathroom. It's pretty clean and the house keeping staff are very nice. Again we have a lot of messes from which we can change every month if we want. Honestly the food is way better than other colleges.

Hostel Fee: INR 170000 per year

Admission

I came through dasa process. Where the eligibility was only 75% above in boards and should have passed jee. The fees are same for people who write MET also. There is also another quota you can apply through which is the bro quota. But you needvto pay 4 times the normal fees.

Placement stats are pretty good, offers above 50LPA have also been granted to students, but they are not as common. With a good cgpa, 5+ LPA can be ensured. Students from 6th sem become eligible for placements, companies such as TI, Apple, Daimler Trucks etc have come for placements

The Pros and Cons of being a student at MIT Manipal

I tried JEE but could not secure a good enough percentile to get into prominent NITs. MIT Manipal seemed to be better than any of the cet colleges with only the course fee being slightly on the higher end. I applied to SRM and VIT, both of which i got accepted into, but opted out as it seemed like both of these colleges rely heavily on student intake and are money minded. MIT Manipal has an exam called the MET which is based on a jee scheme (+3 -1). In my year the only marks required to secure a seat in the college was the MET but the scheme has changed and now board marks are also taken into consideration. JEE percentile can also be considered if the student secures above 95 , but most students take MET and are given ranks according to it....Read More
