Echanical is on of the core courses which branches of to all the other courses and is optimal for people who do not know which course to choose The faculty ratio is 3 faculty members for every 100 The faculty is very qualified Every 2 months there is a mid term exam but end sems are once in 4 months and difficulty is medium

Class Size: 97Course Fees: INR 400000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships are available for SC st and if you have a rank below 1500 in the met exam Camp jobs are available in the ways of restaurants, deliveries etc Financial assistance is provided for a Under privileged students

Campus Life

Annual fest called rebels happen and are amazing they are usually conducted in March Books are available in the library Classrooms equipped will projector,blackboard and ac is availablea large variety of sports are available with inter and intra campus games Drama clubs reading clubs etc are run by students

Hostel Facilities

Hostels get cleaned every 3-4 days washroom clean and good supply of water Meals are top notch and alternate between egg and non veg for non vegetarian and paneer for vegetarians There is also a Jain option Hostels are affordable and registration can be done on the mahe website Udupi

I wrote the met exam and got 6000 rank and was eligible for mechanical You can find the application form etc at the manipal website Fast reservation and refunds if not required Easier application process would be optimal

Placement stats are pretty good, offers above 50LPA have also been granted to students, but they are not as common. With a good cgpa, 5+ LPA can be ensured. Students from 6th sem become eligible for placements, companies such as TI, Apple, Daimler Trucks etc have come for placements

The Pros and Cons of being a student at MIT Manipal

I tried JEE but could not secure a good enough percentile to get into prominent NITs. MIT Manipal seemed to be better than any of the cet colleges with only the course fee being slightly on the higher end. I applied to SRM and VIT, both of which i got accepted into, but opted out as it seemed like both of these colleges rely heavily on student intake and are money minded. MIT Manipal has an exam called the MET which is based on a jee scheme (+3 -1). In my year the only marks required to secure a seat in the college was the MET but the scheme has changed and now board marks are also taken into consideration. JEE percentile can also be considered if the student secures above 95 , but most students take MET and are given ranks according to it....Read More
