- Some new faculties of the college are not quite good in teaching.
- Their is a strict 85% attendance rule which sometimes becomes quite hectic.
- The coding culture is bad as most of the students are focussed on academics only.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is bit old with some non relevant subjects.Some faculties are good in their subjects but some are just bad.Most of the faulties have done their phd in this college itself.The level of the exams conducted is between easy to moderate.
Internships Opportunities
Almost 90 % of the students get internship in many reputed companies like Bosch, Western Digital, Cisco, ZScaler and many startups as well.Some of the students are able to convert them into PPOs.The average stipend offered in summer internships is 20,000 per month.
Placement Experience
The placement of the college is great with an average package of 8-9lakhs and highest package of 40 lakhs considering all the branches and the highest package of .The average package of CSE is around 12 lakhs with many great comapnies like Western Digital,Mercedez Benz,Cisco,Apple visiting for campus recruitment.Last year around 400 companies came for campus hiring and 1200 offers were made.The placement percentage of the college is 90 percentage.The students become eligible for placements from the 6th semester.The top roles offered are Embedded Engineer,Hardware Engineer and SDE.My plan after getting a degree is to work as an SDE in one of the FAANG companies.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees is quite high for students coming through COMEDK but affordable for students getting admission through KCET.There are different types of scholarships available for the students based on the family income for which the students need to submit the respective documents in the scholarship section
Campus Life
The social life of JSS STU can be considered one of the best in Karnataka colleges with a campus size of around 108 acres.The annual fest JAYCIANA is quite famous in which many famous celebrities perform.Our college is well equpped with all the sports facilities and a large library with around 1500 books on various topics and subjects.Most of the student clubs are active throughout the year.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilty of the college is okayish.Most of the rooms for first years are 4 sharing.Geysers are installed in the washrooms.Recently they have installed cctv cameras in the hostel.The mess food is quite okay. The people coming from North India may take more time to get accustomed to the food habits.Registration process is done at the time of physical reporting but the rooms get alloted 2-3 days prior to the inaugration for freshers.
Admission
I got admitted here the course of BE in CSE through COMEDK.COMEDK is an exam conducted at All India level for admission in medical engineering and dental colleges of Karnataka.The cutoff for CSE in JSS STU was around 3000.
