- it has a large campus with an area of 1150 acres
- iitk has one of the best research facilities

- it suffers a great disadvantage in placements due to its location
- as compared to delhi and bombay, kanpur has a few restaurants and hanging joints outside campus.
- due to tough academic curriculum, its is difficult to manage with busy schedule.
Course Curriculum Overview
i chose this course as it is a circuital branch with all the opportunities open. U can pursue a career in core, software dev, finance and consulting. student teacher ratio is 1:15 faculty are well qualified with all of them having phds from prestigious institutes. teaching methods in first year can be improved in several courses. there are 4 exams in one sem displayed in order quiz midsem quiz endsem exams were difficult in general.
Internships Opportunities
there are many companies offering internships at iitk like amazon yahoo! godman sachs u can opt for internships off-campus also. u would be required to do one or two months of work in it. also in iitk there is an SURGE program which is a mentorship program in which students do projects under professors.
Placement Experience
people get eligible in fourth year several companies visit including google microsoft jp morgan etc. highest and average package differ from year to year Almost all the students get placed. i havent made up my mind what i am going to do
Fees and Financial Aid
the fees for one sem is on an average 110000 with 100000 being the tution fess and around 10000 as hostel fees. i will give you an example of this semester: the total fees was 115365 100000 for tution fees 12740 for hostel fees and the other as miscellenous charges
Campus Life
there are three fests conducted in iitk 1. Antaragni - Cultural fest (around oct) 2. Udgosh - Sports fest(around oct) 3. Techkriti - tech fest( around feb-march) our library is one of the biggest libraries in iit. classrooms are well equipped with projectors and large screens and are well maintained. there are plenty of sports present in iitk with equiments provided to the students some of the sports are cricket, squash, aquatics etc. there is a student body in iitk known as student gymkhana.
Hostel Facilities
in our room which is of triple sharing in hall 13 of iitk one room has three beds, 2 closets, 2 tables and three chairs. meal quality in mess is average to poor. registration process was quite simple. u just have to fill a form and give it in the hall office as a first year
Admission
Eligibility criteria: 1. person should clear jee main 2. person should be born after october 1998 3. candidate should have cleared board exams in 2022 or 2023 wit minimum of 75 percent 4. u can take max 2 attempts u can find all the info in jeeadv.ac.in
