Course Curriculum Overview

The faculty members are too friendly and helpful. They are 24*7 ready to figure out any kind of problem you face. They all qualified their phd degree with good marks and standard teaching Speacility. Overall they are great.

There are no placement in Darjeeling government college. But you can get a pert time job though this college. Every year they conducts some interviews for this opertunity. You get a job in hdfc bank, in some 5tar popular hotels and air india as well

Fees and Financial Aid

Per semester you have to pay aprox only 900 rupee for college fees which is much cheaper than any other government college and as a semester fees you have to pay 1050 per semester so overall per semester you have to pay 1950 rupees. You can get scholarship as well. For science students which is 18000 per year and for arts 12000

Campus Life

There are lots of books in library. And personally speaking i dont think you have to buy books for your academic from outside. There are lots of club as well. Like writers club, dance club, nss and ncc etc.

Hostel Facilities

Their are 3 hostels for girls but for boys there's nothing. In girls hostels their are 2persons, 3 persons, single room available. And i think the hostels food is good in that reasonable price which is way cheaper than outside.

Hostel Fee: INR 2500 per year

Admission

You have to pass 12th grade with at least 60% marks to get a chance which is a minimum criteria but in reality you must habe more than 75% marks in 12th then only you can get a chance in you desirable coarse. You have fill up the form from Darjeeling Government college's official website which is free of cost. Reservation benefits are available.

Good academics with limited internship opportunities

Course Curriculum Overview:

Placement Experience:

After completing the 5th Semester the student are eligible for placement but the student should have 7.5 CGPA and a good attendence for the palcement after this oncampus placement like TCS, wipro, accenture etc come for placement with a native package of around 6-8 LPA. Which is goood . Nearly as per report around 80% of studentt gets placed every year . After i complete this course i have decide to go master degree in data science which will be benificial for me for international company.

Pros and cons

Placement Experience:

Placement or internship depends on the course Duration . Overall placement is good . The highest package is 1cr/ yr. And the average package 2to3 lakh/ yr. After getting the bsc. degree in Forensic science, I want to prepare for compitive exam or prepare for higher studies.

How an average student sees his College

Remarks:

Pros:The teachers very very helpful and friendly. Loans and scholarships available. Faculties are highly qualified. Infrastructure is awesome. Cons: no placement. No stipends There wasn’t any hostel facility. Canteen could be developed.

Viewing from my perspective

Government College are cheaper than private so I choose government college and we get scholarship. No I was not rejected.ST people will get seat faster than OBC . The person scoring good percentage is taken in . General having good percentage still won't be able to get as the seat are taken by ST OBC . The exams are not hard but also not too easy....Read More
