UIET Chandigarh, an underrated college

I chose the course coz to be honest i didn't studied enough for jee mains, i scored 91 percentile so it was difficult for me to go better institute. according this was the best place to pursue engineering according to my rank. faculty to student ratio, I'm not sure it must me 1:30 i guess. most faculty are well qualified and their teaching method are good. For exams there are one major and two minor exam per semester with practicals and vivas

Placement stats will defer for different branches, like for CS and IT, i guess 85-90% students are placed with average package of 8.5 lakhs per annum. for ECE, EEE and mechanical,around 50-70% are placed, depends on the batch with average package of 6-7 lpa. I'm planning for managment studies after getting the degree coz I'm not enjoying my course

course fee is around 1.1 lakh per year and if someone is living in hostel than hostel expenses are not that high, but if someone come here to live on their own in private room aur pg, then they can be costly. fees hike are there but not that much as much i know. there are some scholarships here which branch coordinator updates us time to time plus one can do internship in college itself with stipend of 5k as per my knowledge.

So, social life in UIET is good as the person in Panjab University, so atmosphere is very happening. Goonj is the annual fest of the college, and it is conducted around feb and march. books, journals , amenities in classrooms are good, decent. enough for a person. sports activites in college campus are none, nothing interesting coz there is only a basketball court in its campus but there are grounds in university campus, so one can go there and have some sports with their friends. There are many clubs for students run by the students like there are many even i forgot their number. acording to me, social life is decent

If someone is provided with a hostel room then one gets a bed, an almirah, table, chair, balcony and a fan. quality if meal in the mess is i would say good, it's not bad, its eatable. but it defers from person to person. Hostel are allotted by college to the students according to their JEE mains rank and if the student is not in the radius of 25km, gradually 60% of the students shifts to hostel by 2nd year. There are many PGs and rooms their for students near the campus

In this college, admission are done on the basis of JEE rank. A person is eligible if his/her percentage is above 75% or equivalent in 10th and 12th class. To apply for admissions, one have to fill the forms on Jac chandigarh site. Reservations benefits are there on their site
