The Reality Of What It Is

The reason that made me choose this course is that I want to leave behind a legacy. And to show the world that this is the only chance we have at saving the planet. The faculty: student ratio is of a good balance as there are multiple visiting faculties as well. And the faculty members either have a Ph.D. or are pursuing one at present. In terms of exam conductance, they are conducted at a good interval and are not difficult to pass considering one needs to study well.

The institute gives students the flexibility to intern in any company or organization of their choice in any region considering the student completes their internship as it is part of their learning program. In addition, students also have the flexibility to choose a project on which they want to work on .

As this is a public university, the fees are not as high or as expensive and are still manageable. And in terms of scholarship and financial assistance, one can simply apply for any scholarship under the National Scholarship Portal which will then be verified by the Institute upon submission of application through the National Scholarship Portal.

Annually there is a college fest that will usually be held during January. One can easily access books, journals, and dissertations that are available both in the college library as well as the department library. Unfortunately, there are no smart classrooms as the institute itself was constructed during the British Times and is now under UNESCO's World Heritage Site. Sports and extracurricular activities on the campus are held at certain times or during the annual college fest. By far, there are no social groups, clubs, or websites for students that are run by the students. And the college itself lacks diversity of the students.

Keeping in mind the temperature of the city in which the institute is located, the classrooms are equipped with fans and with air conditioners in areas that are suitable and not destructive to the age-old structure. As of late, the institute's canteen which is supposed to be operating daily has been under lock and key ever since I joined the institute back in August 2023. The Registration process for Hostel is quite a tedious task. And from what I know, more preference is given to students coming from far-off locations. But, as of late the institute only has a boys hostel for the time being as the girls hostel is demolished for renovation and is currently shifted to Bandra, keeping in mind that the institute is located in South Mumbai in Colaba. Applying for the hostel is a process that requires months and there is no guarantee if one will be able to secure a spot.

This course requires any science background with an aggregate of 55%. One can find the application form, fees, and dates on the website of the college itself. Even though I am an ST since I am an ST from another state, that is, Meghalaya, these privileges do not apply to me and I am under the open category here in Maharashtra. The improvement that is required in the admission process is avoidance of delaying the entrance exam date and publishing of the selected list of candidates
